In another absolutely historic win for those wanting to see border enforcement operations take precedence and for the Trump Administration to defend the border as strongly as is possible, the administration announced that the number of crossings at the sourthern border has crashed to the lowest level in decades, and that for the fifth straight month, no illegal aliens have been released into the country.
Such is what the Trump Administration announced in a press release put out by the White House, in which it announced that the president’s massive commitment to defending the border and crushing illegal border crossings remains extremely strong and has so far been extremely successful.
Beginning, the press statement noted that the number of illegal crossings has dropped like a rock and is now at its lowest level since the 1970s, saying, “President Donald J. Trump’s relentless commitment to securing our homeland has crushed illegal crossings at the southern border to the lowest level in over 50 years — another historic victory for American sovereignty and safety under President Trump’s leadership.”
Continuing, the statement noted that though the Biden Administration had unleashed an absolute horror show of an immigration crisis on the country, the Trump Administration has succeeded in effecting a “seismic turnaround,” saying, “After Biden-era chaos unleashed a record-shattering invasion, the seismic turnaround proves that strong leadership can, in fact, stop the flood of illegal crossings, deadly cartels, and security threats dead in their tracks.”
Adding more details in a statement of its own, the Department of Homeland Security noted, “Today, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced preliminary enforcement numbers for September 2025, closing out Fiscal Year 2025 with the lowest U.S. Border Patrol apprehensions since 1970.”
Continuing, the statement noted that the massive Trump Administration success comes despite the Biden Administration having gotten in the way with months of open border policies, saying, “This feat is a testament to the Trump Administration’s success in restoring control at the border— despite the handicap of more than three months of Biden’s open-border chaos at the start of the fiscal year. ”
And, noting the specific data that shows the tremendous victory, the DHS statement provided, “Southwest Border Apprehensions: 237,565 — the lowest fiscal year total in 55 years, compared to 201,780 in Fiscal Year 1970, and 87 percent below the average of the last four fiscal years which was 1.86 million.”

Further, it explained that nearly all of those border crossings occured during the Biden regime, stating, “Most encounters happened under the previous administration: 172,026 apprehensions — 72 percent of the total — occurred during the under the Biden Administration during the first 111 days of the fiscal year. Over the next 254 days, this administration recorded 65,539 apprehensions, accounting for just 27 percent of the year’s total.”
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, for her part, explained, “We have had the most secure border in American history and our end of year numbers prove it. We have shattered multiple records this year and once again we have broken a new record with the lowest number of Southwest border apprehensions in 55 years. Under President Trump, we have empowered and supported our law enforcement to do their job and they have delivered.”
Similarly, commenting on the massive success that has so far occurred, Customs and Border Patrol Commissioner Rodney Scott said, “Fiscal Year 2025 shows what happens when we enforce the law without compromise. For too long, agents and officers were handcuffed by failed policies. Today they are empowered to do their jobs – and the result is the lowest apprehensions in more than five decades, and the most secure border in modern history.”
