New Data Shows Key Senator from Very Important Purple State Has A Very Good Reason to Leave the Democratic Party and Join the Republican Party

Sen. John Fetterman, a Democrat from Pennsylvania, has seen a dramatic shift in his approval ratings, leading some to wonder if he may soon consider a change in his party affiliation. According to new polling, 54% of Democrats now disapprove of his Senate performance, a stark contrast to last year’s 80% approval. On the other side, 62% of Republicans now approve, up from 16% last year.

For context, Fetterman has consistently crossed the aisle to align with the GOP, including supporting a Republican funding measure to avoid a government shutdown. He has not only criticized the DNC but refused to call Trump supporters “Nazis or fascists.”

In any case, Tim Malloy, Quinnipiac University polling analyst, offered vital context, saying, “One-time Democratic darling John Fetterman flips the approval script as Republicans embrace him and Democrats give him low marks nearly two years after GOP voters wouldn’t give him the time of day.”

In a recent interview on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” Fetterman detailed one of the many ways he’s broken with the DEmocratic establishment. “If you want a Democrat that’s going to call people Nazis or fascists or all these kinds of things … I’m not going to be that guy,” Fetterman noted.

As an example of Sen. Fetterman’s ongoing spat with his party, on September 9, 2025, Sen. John Fetterman slammed Democrats embracing socialism amid a Gallup poll showing only 42% view capitalism favorably, versus 66% for socialism.

Firing back at a reporter, he shared an anecdote from a visit to Croatia, where the locals called socialism “the worst thing ever,” a “nightmare,” and warned Americans are “morons” needing a “reality check, bolstering Fetterman’s point.

In any case, the interaction began with a report showing the Pennsylvania senator the data. “Senator, there’s a Gallup poll that was released that 42 percent of Democratic voters view capitalism favorably, while 66 percent of Democratic voters view socialism favorably. Do you think that’s a messaging issue for Democrats?” a journalist noted.

Answering with apparent frustration, John Fetterman expressed his feelings honestly. Responding off the cuff, he said, “Oh, that’s a great, it’s a great question. I literally was in a former communist nation, and I asked that.”

Using his travel experience to shut down far-left Democrats like AOC, Fetterman continued unabated.
“I said, ‘Some people in my party, some of the lefties are talking about socialism now. What do you think?’ And he’s like, ‘That’s the worst thing ever. You would never want to live here, I’ve lived through that kind of a thing,” Fetterman noted with more common sense than most democrats.

Concluding his comments, Senator John Fetterman blasted the far left of his party. Refusing to mince words, he explained, “You’re going to need a reality check if you ever adopt any of those things. You know, like, you are morons. It’s like, it was a nightmare for us, and now we are a free market nation.’ It was Croatia.”
