The Virginia Republican Party has used a legal challenge to put Democratic candidate Stacey Carroll’s bid for Virginia’s GOP-held House District 64 in danger after revealing that she may actually live in the Democratic-leaning 23rd District, potentially disqualifying her from the ballot.
For context, the suit was filed by three Stafford County voters, who demand that she provide proof of her residence, citing a 1966 ruling that places the burden of proof on the candidate. If the suit is successful, she would be running in a much safer Democratic seat, rather than a vulnerable seat in a district that Trump carried by two points.
This is only one of the essential races in Virginia, where all 100 House seats are up for election, and Democrats have fielded a full slate for the first time in decades. Democrats were able to maintain a 52-48 House majority in 2023, but Republicans need only three seats to flip to regain control.
As we reported, Virginia Democrats have been plagued by scandals, such as when Democratic gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger accepted $50,000 from Pin Ni, a Chinese businessman linked to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) through Wanxiang America.
Reacting to this scandal, opponent Winsome Earle-Sears’ campaign questioned Spanberger’s loyalty and cited the donation as evidence of foreign influence. Echoing comments from FBI director Kash Patel, raising concerns about CCP influence in Democratic politics.
Before the controversy, Wanxiang issued a statement, which read, “[The founder, Lu Guanqiu] has always listened to the [Chinese Communist] Party and followed the Party… [Xi Jinping praised Lu Guanqiu, saying he was] in line with the Party Central Committee. He always actively does what our Party committees and governments at all levels advocate.”
In a graciously self-serving comment, the Spanberger Campaign said, “Virginians know that Abigail Spanberger has a demonstrated record of standing up for America’s national security, delivering results for Virginia families across party lines, and never backing down from keeping the American people safe.”

Still not done, the Spanberger Campaign kept up its PR-driven commentary. “Her campaign will remain focused on what Virginians care about most, keeping our communities safe, driving down costs, protecting Virginia jobs, and making sure Virginia’s public schools are the very best in America,” the Democrats revealed.
Finally bringing their convoluted comments to a close, the Spanberger campaign noted, “At the CIA, she had one mission: protect and serve the United States of America. She worked undercover to identify threats to national security, prevent terrorist attacks, stop the spread of nuclear weapons, and track transnational criminal networks.”
Blasting the Democrat, the Earle-Sears Campaign issued a blistering condemnation. “Taking $50,000 from someone with clear Chinese Communist Party ties tells us all we need to know. You can’t claim to stand up to foreign threats while pocketing money from someone celebrated by the CCP,” the GOP noted.
Unfortunately, connections between the CCP and Democratic politicians are all too common. As we reported, FBI Director Kash Patel exposed a blue state bureaucrat saying, “While Americans were locked down and desperate for PPE, Linda Sun and Chris Hu cashed in – allegedly lining their pockets while serving CCP interests. This corruption that endangered lives… The FBI will not tolerate public officials who sell out their country.”
