Beni Rae Harmony, a former Illinois TV anchor who was suspended after she gave a touching memorial for slain conservative Charlie Kirk live on air, has endorsed Republican gubernatorial candidate Darren Bailey at his 2026 campaign launch, invoking biblical themes to rally conservatives. Initially, stepping down after the suspension, she compared her conviction to Esther’s,
For context, building on this biblical analogy, he urged supporters to choose truth over silence, praising Bailey’s faith and commitment to Christ. Criticizing Gov. J.B. Pritzker, she called for a revival to save her embattled blue state.
In any case, Harmony began her comments by endorsing the Republican candidate. “We are witnessing what the Bible said, we are witnessing the evil in our country… I think Darren Bailey is the man to lead us through that,” she said.
Using a biblical analogy to strengthen her position, she said, “She [Esther] was at a crossroads… She was battling a choice… When you make a choice, you need to stand in it, be convicted in it and not give up.”
Building to a crescendo, she addressed the crowd directly. “Silence or speaking truth… What would you choose? Would you stay silent?… Are you going to stand up for what you believe in? He [Bailey] reached out to me and said he was praying for me. Does JB Pritzker pray for us? Does JB Pritzker even know what a Bible is?” she said.
Offering a solution, the former reporter noted that, “We need a revival, and it is here.” Adding to her previous comments, she said, “As I look you in the eyes, you were given a voice, the voice that I was suspended for… I want every single one of you to vow that you will do the same.”
Offering a powerful endorsement, the reporter expertly tied her biblical comments to the GOP candidate. “Darren is a man who is led by Christ, and you can see it in every movement that he makes. A man not afraid to speak the gospel… Even if Darren is crucified for it, he will not stop until we make Illinois great again.”

Considering her comments, she made a brave prediction for the future. “I’m so blessed to be here with all of you and I’m going to be fighting right alongside… We will make sure that Darren becomes our next governor,” she noted,
As we reported, shortly after Kirk’s assassination, Harmony took to her show to offer a touching eulogy. She said, “Two days ago, I lost a mentor, my first boss, the first person who made me believe in myself, who encouraged me to chase this dream that you’re watching right now.”
Adding to her previous comments, she offered encouragement to the audience. “There’s a lot of there’s a lot going on in our world right now, in our country, but I want to say one thing, lean on your neighbors. Speak up for what you believe in. I don’t care what it is,” she stated.
