In a recently unearthed clip from June 30, 2024, then-Senator JD Vance clashed with CBS host Margaret Brennan on Face the Nation. In a flagrant display of bias, Brennan challenged facts on Trump’s statements, which she seems to have deliberately misread to cast aspersions on Trump during the vital election season.
For context, Brennan complained about Trump’s remarks about state legislation and National Guard deployment on January 6. Expertly countering the biased Dem, he accused her of bias and noted how the media ignored Joe Biden’s falsehoods and protected Democrats.
Unwilling to take criticism, Brennan interrupted, noting accusations of bias from all sides. Vance continued, alleging media favoritism for Biden and asserting Trump’s capability when compared to the aging Democrat.
In any case, Brennan began her biased commentary by completely missing the point of a statement from President Trump. “Mr. Trump falsely claimed states are passing legislation to execute babies. I think you know that killing people is illegal in every state,” she whined.
Still not done slandering Trump, the journalist alleged, “He falsely claimed that the Speaker of the House at the time turned down 10,000 soldiers that he had offered to keep the peace ahead of January 6 — something his own Acting Secretary of Defense testified to Congress did not happen. If he has such a strong platform, why make false claims?”
Fighting back against the biased media with practiced ease, JD Vance shut her down. “I think the media is running interference on a lot of this stuff. We all know, and Nancy Pelosi herself has admitted on camera, that she could have requested more National Guard troops; she bears some responsibility for the fact that they weren’t there at the Capitol,” he pointed out, much to the news anchor’s consternation.
Using facts to expertly embarrass Brennan, he provided much-needed context, saying, “We know that the multiple Democratic governors and states and even some Democratic senators and congressmen have tried to pass laws that would effectively legalize abortion up until the moment of birth.”

Blasting the biased media coverage that favors Democrats to an absurd degree, Vance wrapped up his epic diatribe. “And most importantly, we know that the media seems totally uninterested in fact-checking Joe Biden from any of the number of false claims that he made,” Vance declared.
Clearly defensive, Brennan frantically tried to shift responsibility. “You know, I lost track, sir. I’ve been told the media is on every single side of this and everything’s our fault,” the irritating journalist claimed.
Refusing to let her off the hook, Vance went on the offensive. “Joe Biden made multiple statements of falsehood during the debate. And a lot of folks in the media, yes, seemed totally uninterested in fact-checking him,” he noted.

Concluding his comments, Vance made it clear the difference between Joe Biden and President Trump. “We’ve trained this new media cycle where folks are trying to run cover. Look, the American people saw what they saw. Trump can do the job, Biden can’t,” he said.
