President Donald Trump is demanding answers after recent revelations from FBI Director Kash Patel exposed that, contrary to what former FBI Director Christopher Wray claimed multiple times in 2021 and 2023, the FBI apparently had hundreds of plainclothes FBI agents in the crowd on January 6.
For reference, it was revealed in late September that a whopping 274 plainclothes agents were at the U.S. Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021. FBI Director Kash Patel said, commenting on the matter, “Agents were sent into a crowd control mission after the riot was declared by Metro Police – something that goes against FBI standards. This was the failure of a corrupt leadership that lied to Congress and to the American people about what really happened.”
That revelation and admission stand in stark contrast to sworn testimony given by former FBI Director Christopher Wray in both 2021 and 2023. He claimed, in both cases, that there were not undercover or plainclothes FBI agents in the crowd on January 6, whereas, as shown by the recent revelation, there were nearly 300.
President Trump, in response, sounded off in a post on Truth Social. Beginning, the president declared, “It was just revealed that the FBI had secretly placed, against all Rules, Regulations, Protocols, and Standards, 274 FBI Agents into the Crowd just prior to, and during, the January 6th Hoax.”
Continuing, the president insisted, “This is different from what Director Christopher Wray stated, over and over again! That’s right, as it now turns out, FBI Agents were at, and in, the January 6th Protest, probably acting as Agitators and Insurrectionists, but certainly not as ‘Law Enforcement Officials.’”
Adding to that, he noted that many of his supporters were, in his view, unfairly prosecuted for what happened on that day, and so a very strong investigation will be carried out. He said, “I want to know who each and every one of these so-called ‘Agents’ are, and what they were up to on that now ‘Historic’ Day. Many Great American Patriots were made to pay a very big price only for the love of their Country. I owe this investigation of ‘Dirty Cops and Crooked Politicians’ to them!”
Concluding, he demanded that Chris Wray answer for his lies and face justice, saying, “Christopher Wray, the then Director of the FBI, has some major explaining to do. That’s two in a row, Comey and Wray, who got caught LYING, with our Great Country at stake. WE CAN NEVER LET THIS HAPPEN TO AMERICA AGAIN!”

Chris Wray isn’t the only former FBI Director in hot water right now. Former FBI Director James Comey has been indicted for lying to Congress, and Trump celebrated that on Truth Social. In one such post, he said, “I’d like to thank Kash Patel, and the outstanding members of the FBI, for their brilliant work on the recent Indictment of the Worst FBI Director in the History of our Country, James ‘Dirty Cop’ Comey.”
He added, “The level of enthusiasm by the FBI was incredible, but only caused by the fact that they knew Comey for what he is, and was, a total SLIMEBALL! Again, thank you to the FBI and, specifically, those that worked on this case with U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan, and the DOJ. Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! President DJT”
