After the senseless slaying of conservative icon and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, online critics have slammed Howard Kurtz for insinuating that Kirk was in some way responsible for his murder. In a clip that went viral, Kurtz claimed that “Kirk was not a saint,” prompting pushback from the other anchors and political figures alike.

For context, Howie Kurtz has already had his long-running show cancelled on Fox, due to both declining ratings and feuds with President Trump. These comments are typical of the man’s limp-wristed RINO values and are part of the reasons FOX was happy to let him go.

In any case, Kurtz began his bizarre comments by minimizing the political climate that led to the death of Kirk. He claimed, “There is violent extremism on both sides. It is not proportionate. And to have an honest conversation about what led to this moment, that has to focus in part on the left.”

Doubling down, the former news host repeated the DNC talking point about the TPUSA founder, saying, “Charlie Kirk was not a saint. He said two years ago, it’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year, so we can have the Second Amendment, but his murder makes us feel like a very dangerous time.”

Reacting to the outrageous comments, conservatives on social media. One such comment stated, “@_johnnymaga He should be fired immediately.” Another, noting that his show was pulled off the air, joked, “I could not be happier this pathetic, weak little man’s show got canceled.”

In a hilarious moment, Greg Gutfeld sarcastically posted, “[M]aybe we can tune in next week for a clarification….oh wait…,”  making a joke about Kurtz’s canceled show MediaBuzz.” Another prominent conservative posted, “No wonder they canceled this trash @HowardKurtz And Howard is a garbage person. This cowardly propaganda mouthpiece just BACKED UP those who blame Charlie Kirk for his own kiIIing, bringing up Kirk’s stance on the 2nd Amendment as a contributing factor.”

On his final broadcast, the controversial journalist said“, So much television today is about picking a team and denigrating anyone with opposing opinions,” he claimed that he was “regularly seen as both too complimentary of Trump and fervently anti-MAGA, ‘often for the same comments.’”

In an epic post to Truth Social, Trump savaged the controversial anchor. He stated, “It is time for Howie Kurtz to retire! Every Woke Anchor in the Business, people that no one watched from CNN, MSNBC, and others, are plastered all over his show, with all really negative and fake statements.”

Still not done ripping into Kurtz, he described how he was, “Weakly “defended by Howie and his group (although Ben Domenech has been strong!). The case Howie makes for me is so pathetic that it would be a lot better if he didn’t say anything. Anyway, that’s the way it is!”

Defending himself from Trump’s remarks, Kurtz tweeted, “Lotta trolls out today. I’ve known President Trump for 35 years, and if I hated him he wouldn’t keep giving me interviews. Some people not interested in fairness.”
