In yet another major move out of the Trump Administration, Christopher Landua, the 23rd Deputy Secretary at the State Department, took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce that foreigners who are currently in America and who are caught praising the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk will be deported.
He also asked for those who see such behavior to bring it to his attention, leading to a barrage of comments showing that various foreign nationals are on American soil and calling for violence against conservative, Christian Americans for political reasons. Landau indicated that they would be dealt with properly.
In his post announcing the initiative to deport those who have celebrated Kirk’s death, Landau began by saying that the assassination was absolutely horrific and those who have revelled in it are not welcome in America. He wrote, “In light of yesterday’s horrific assassination of a leading political figure, I want to underscore that foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country.”
Continuing, Deputy Secretary Landau noted just how despicable and awful it is to see anyone online celebrating the assassination, much less foreigners who are only here at our sufferance. He said, “I have been disgusted to see some on social media praising, rationalizing, or making light of the event, and have directed our consular officials to undertake appropriate action.”
Concluding, the deputy secretary called on all those who see such behavior out of the left to bring it to his attention so that it can be properly dealt with, the comment that led to the avalanche of cases in his comments. He wrote, “Please feel free to bring such comments by foreigners to my attention so that the @StateDept can protect the American people.”
One of the top commenters on his post drew attention to a South African in America on a visa who celebrated Charlie’s death with a meme from the Great Gatsby movie, saying, “This is a South African woman who works in DC and is in your country on a visa. She hates President Trump, has sided with America’s enemies including Hamas, and today celebrated the death of Charlie Kirk. There is no reason this woman should be in the US let alone in DC.”
Another called out a prominent German who celebrated Kirk’s death, calling for Landau to ensure he is banned from the country, saying, “So called “journalist” “El Hotzo” from Germany, his real name is Sebastian Hotz, who is paid by state broadcasters makes his nasty jokes about Charlie Kirks death. Even during the Trump assassination attempt, this guy cheered, was reported and acquitted in court. The least he could get would be a place on the no-fly list and a general ban on entering the US for life.”

A third pointed to a notoriously woke British student, saying, “George Abaraonye – the incoming President (the President-Elect) of the prestigious Oxford Union – celebrated Charlie Kirk being shot on both his Instagram and the committee WhatsApp chat. Should prominent American figures like Jordan Peterson think twice about speaking there? Charlie Kirk spoke at the Oxford Union in May this year.”
In response to all of those comments and others, Landau posted this meme, indicating that he will be dealing with the individuals named by the commenters:
