“Governor Gaslighter”: Colorado Governor Gets Hammered after State Law Forces Sheriff to Release “Very Dangerous” Criminal

In the wake of the horrific slaying of 23-year-old Iryna Zarutska in a light rail car by Decarlos Brown Jr., a felon with a lengthy criminal record who was released by the authorities 14 times before his killing of Zaratuska, a massive conversation regarding the state of crime and anarchy in America has exploded online.

Amongst those who have faced the massive backlash is the woke Governor of Colorado, who has been blamed for his state’s crime problem, particularly a case in which a violent, dangerous felon had to be released by a local sheriff because of a state law regarding criminals found incompetent to stand trial.

The conversation targeting that governor arose thanks to the “Unlimited L’s” X account, which posted, “🚨BREAKING: Colorado Sheriff admits he was forced to release a ‘very dangerous’ inmate from jail because of state law that requires criminals found incompetent to stand trial to be released.”

Additionally, the account added more context, saying, “Debisa Ephraim, 21, was released after being found incompetent to stand trial in two of his cases. Ephraim had been facing charges including attempted second-degree murder, assault, engaging in a riot, menacing, and burglary. Officials described him as a ‘potential danger to the community.’”

Further, the account quoted the sheriff involved, Weld County Sheriff Steve Reams, as saying, “He is a very dangerous person, and his actions, from what we can tell, were unprovoked.” The sheriff further added, “Quite honestly, without some legislative actions, I don’t know how you address this concern.”

Responding, many commenters and quote-tweeters freaked out and sounded off on the Colorado government for being so pro-crime as to force the release of a violent criminal who poses a serious danger to the community. Amongst those who did so was Elon Musk, who tagged the woke Colorado governor, Jared Polis, writing, “This is insane @jaredpolis.”

Polis attempted to shield himself and his administration by acting like this was a surprise and the law formerly unknown to him, saying, in a commented response to Elon’s fury-filled post, “Absolutely unacceptable. I’m calling on the county attorney and DA to use state law, including CRS Title 25 and Title 27, to ensure he’s not at large. This should have happened BEFORE release not after. Remove this threat now!”

Hammering him in a fury-filled quote tweet about the governor’s involvement in the very bill he was pretending to be against, one angry X poster wrote, “You signed the bill into law that enabled this, Governor gaslighter. Again, where is the #copolitics #coleg media cadre to call this sh*t out?”

Commenters on that post agreed, noting that the governor was absolutely deluded to think he could pretend to be against this after having ensured it happened. One such commenter said, “He’s deluded if he thinks a statement on X to Elon will wipe out the bill he signed. He doesn’t want to look bad in front of Elon. Never thought what he did would come back to haunt him.” Another noted, “WTAF?!? This is beyond gaslighting, this is a mental illness.”
