In a dramatic confrontation, Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) pounced on Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., questioning his decision not to recommend COVID boosters for healthy individuals.
For context, she alleged that this decision would limit insurance coverage and accused Kennedy of breaking his confirmation promise to ensure vaccine access for all. The situation further escalated when RFK shut her down by noting that Warren had received over $855,000 from pharmaceutical companies, putting the disrespectful Democrat back in her place.
In any case, Warren started off her disingenuous attack by criticizing RFK’s decision to remove the recommendation for healthy people to take COVID boosters. She asked, “Can anybody get the booster? I’m sorry, can anybody get it? Anybody, so you’re saying that is now the official rule of HHS, anybody is eligible to get a booster by just walking into the pharmacy?”
Clarifying his position, RFK said, “It’s not recommended for healthy people. No.” Immediately trying to take advantage of the situation, Sen. Warren whined, “If you don’t recommend [it], then the consequence of that in many states is that you can’t walk into a pharmacy and get one. It means insurance companies don’t have to cover the $200 or so cost…you are effectively denying people vaccines.”
Continuing his straightforward answers, the HHS secretary responded, “We’re not going to recommend a product for which there’s no clinical data for that indication, which is what I should be doing.” Again, rudely interrupting, Elizabeth Warren alleged that RFK had broken his promises.
She complained, “What you should be doing is honoring your promise that you made when you were looking to get confirmed in this job. You’re going to like this because you promised that you would not take away vaccines from anyone who wanted them. You just changed the classification of the COVID-19 vaccine… it takes it away. If you can’t get it from your pharmacy.”
Firing back with an epic retort which left Warren sputtering, RFK quipped, “I never promised that I was going to recommend products with which there is no indication, and I know you’ve taken $855,000
from pharmaceutical companies.”

Melting down epically, Warren exploded. She whined, “You clearly are taking away vaccines. I’ve seen the list for what’s coming up next, and that is the agenda for the next CDC vaccine panel. And first up is ratifying your COVID actions.”
Justifiably annoyed, RFK countered, “I’m not taking vaccines away from anybody. Then let me ask you. So you want me to recommend every product in the world without any clinical trial data,” leaving Warren speechless and dispiritedly pivoting to another subject.

Reacting to the bizarre treatment of RFK, Vice President JD Vance took to social media to announce his feelings. He declared, “When I see all these senators trying to lecture and “gotcha” Bobby Kennedy today all I can think is: You all support off-label, untested, and irreversible hormonal “therapies” for children, mutilating our kids and enriching big pharma. You’re full of shit and everyone knows it.”
