WATCH: America’s Funniest Senator Gets in a Very Funny Jab at Gov. Gavin Newsom

In a hilarious clip posted to social media, America’s Funniest Senator, John Kennedy (R-LA), roasted the controversial Governor of California, Gavin Newsom (D), for his incompetence and the poor conditions in his state.

For context, Kennedy quipped that Newsom “put the funk into dysfunction,” and pointed to the rampant crime and violence in his state. Additionally, he noted that Newsom refused to act on the issue and instead focused on social media soundbites.

In any case, Sen. Kennedy  began his humorous comments by saying, “I’ve watched Governor Newsom for a year, to quote one of my favorite columnists, ‘he’s put the funk into dysfunction.’ Every year that he’s been governor, crime and violence have gotten worse in California.”

Asking a rhetorical question, he continued, “Why? Because Governor Newsom is a member of the Socialist wing of his party, because Governor Newsom has refused to get up off his ice, cold, lazy butt and do something about it.”

Continuing the epic response, the Luisana Republican said, “Governor Newsom thinks that talking about crime, he’s only doing it under pressure, is racist, because he thinks that cops are a bigger problem than criminals.”

Tempering his scathing criticism, the conservative noted, “But I want to give him credit. Maybe he’s had a conversion, but he’s doing the right thing by sending in California State Police, and you know, even a blind chicken finds a meal worm now and then.”

This is the car from Kennedy’s only quotable moment. As we reported, the senator made a series of jokes that nearly brought the entire Senate to tears. Expressing frustration over a 13-hour Senate delay, Kennedy slammed the Democrats for making a vain attempt to stop Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill.

In any case, the Louisiana Senator began his remarks, saying, “I’m not blaming my Democratic colleagues, because we had to agree to it, but anybody with a brain above a single cell organism knows that a motion to commit has no chance of passing. So basically, we’ve been standing around for 13 hours. We might as well just been standing around sucking on our teeth.”

Relating the current situation to the Biden administration, He stated, “The prior administration handed out $90 billion in the last 76 days of its administration in gifts and loans to entities in the private sector. And that raised fresh hell. And now we’re about to do it again, a billion dollars.”

Still not done, Kennedy quipped, “Now I have been told that the Secretary of Energy and the Secretary of the Interior are going to decide, in their unfettered discretion, who will receive this money in the private sector. And they are both good men. I know that both of those secretaries, I voted for them. They are total ballers. I love them to death.”

Concluding his remarks with a funny story, he noted, “Now… I got a call from one of my supporters, Mr. President, and you know what he said to me? He said, Kennedy, for your own good, you need to pull down this amendment. You have to pull down this amendment. Kennedy, for your own good, you have to pull down this amendment. And you know what I told him, Mr. President? I said, ‘There are only two things I have to do in this world: be cool and die.’ And I’m not peeling down this amendment.”
