After Florida Governor Ron DeSantis confidently fired back at U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams’ August 21, 2025, ruling to dismantle the “Alligator Alcatraz” detention center, conservatives rallied alongside the Republican and lent him their support in a series of encouraging and hilarious comments.
For context, during his comments, DeSantis referred to Williams as an “activist judge” and criticized her for legislating from the bench, vowing that he would not be deterred by her opinion. Building on these comments, he harshly criticised the Biden administration for its inaction on illegal immigration and emphasized Florida’s role in supporting Trump’s deportation policies.
As we reported, DeSantis, speaking in Sanderson, skewered the judge for her biased ruling. He noted, “This is a judge that was not going to give us a fair shake. This was preordained, very much an activist judge that is trying to do policy from the bench.”
Reacting to the woke judge, he vowed, “This [ruling] is not going to deter us. We’re going to continue working on the deportations, advancing that mission.” Building on this point, he blamed the Biden administration for its inaction, saying, “You have people that are in this country that have already been ordered to be removed by the current system, and yet the previous administration didn’t want to do anything about it.”
Speaking about his state’s policies, the popular Florida governor declared, “We’re now in this position where we’re leading the state efforts to help the Trump administration actually enforce the law and actually remove these illegal aliens from not just Florida, but from our country.”
Doubling down, he announced a new immigration facility in his state. DeSantis proclaimed, “Great to be in Sanderson today to announce that Florida’s new Deportation Depot will begin housing, detaining, and processing illegal aliens for deportation, in coordination with federal authorities.”
Concluding his comments, DeSantis stated, “With Alligator Alcatraz operating in South Florida and Deportation Depot authorized in North Florida, we are ramping up our capacity to deport more foreign criminals every day. Florida will always stand for the rule of law and put the safety of our citizens first.”

In the comments under a clip of this speech posted to social media, conservatives rallied around the Florida politician. One such comment noted, “A federal judge or any judge has no jurisdiction in this matter unless it involves a US citizen or a documented visitor(whose documentation hasn’t expired or been rendered invalid at the discretion of the proper authority). The Constitution does not pertain to citizens of other countries without documentation unless they are visiting dignitaries, and it addresses that issue independently.”
Another conservative laconically noted that DeSantis was “the Best Governor in the country.” Agreeing, another commentator mentioned, “Standing his ground with gator-sized determination! Ron’s Florida Express is boarding—no missing this train! 🐊🚂”

Rounding out the comments, one of DeSantis’ voters declared, “Ron, you are the man! I am so happy your my governor and that you don’t let these rogue judge affect your decision to deport these illegal criminals at a fast rate. You are most definitely the best thing in Florida for a decade, keep up the great work.”
