Maxwell Claims in DOJ Interview that She Was Integral, “Very Central” to Creation of Clinton Global Initiative

Speaking during the same two-day Department of Justice interview in which she vindicated Trump and shut down rumors of him doing inappropriate or untoward things alongside Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell commented on her involvement with the Clinton’s, and on Epstein’s relationship with them. Particularly, she commented on being deeply involved with the Clinton Global Initiative.

As background, the transcript and audio of the DOJ-Maxwell interview were released in the name of transparency by Trump Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, who said, on the afternoon of August 22, “In the interest of transparency, @TheJusticeDept is releasing the complete transcript and audio of my proffer of Ms. Maxwell. The transcript and audio are linked below.”

Deputy AG Blanche added that all that was removed or censored were the names of the victims, so as to protect them. He wrote, “The audio is divided into segments to reflect breaks during the interview. Some segments are shorter than others. Shorter segments are a result of audio tests and size limitations per recorded session. Except for the names of victims, every word is included. Nothing removed. Nothing hidden.”

In any case, Ghislaine’s comments in the interview centered around her personal relationships with the Clintons and her connection to the Clinton Global Initiative, a non-profit that, according to its website, hosts an annual meeting with “leaders of nonprofit and philanthropic organizations; prominent voices in business, labor, and finance; youth leaders and grassroots activists; heads of state and prominent government officials; global citizens; and more.”

Ghislaine’s comments on the non-profit and her involvement with it during her interview with Deputy Attorney General Blanche were precipitated by the Deputy AG asking her if she was involved in starting it. He asked, “You were part of the ramp up or the startup of the Clinton Global Initiative?”

Responding, Maxwell told Deputy AG Blanche, “I was.” She added, “I would say very central to that, yes.” Continuing, she explained, “[Epstein] supported me to help them, but then I think he may have tried to use that to insert himself in some way, that would not have surprised me at all.”

Maxwell added, commenting more broadly on Epstein’s involvement with her and the CGI, “And I know that he was annoying, in terms that I could catch him on the phone, and he wouldn’t always agree with what I wanted to do. And I was like, ‘It’s not your idea. I don’t really care what you think,’ but that didn’t go over so well.”

Further, Maxwell explained that the whole Clinton Global Initiative operation, which Blanche described as Davos-like in how it brought together leading globalist types, was not her idea, and that the Clintons had thought of it before. She explained that her being integral to it was that she brought in key personnel who made it a success.

Ghislaine then went on to explain that, while she knows that Epstein and former President Bill Clinton went to Davos together at least once and possibly twice, she does not think that former President Clinton ever went to the infamous Epstein island. She added that she didn’t remember the former president visiting Epstein’s New Mexico, Palm Beach, or New York properties either.
