Famous professional wrestler and Trump supporter, Hulk Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, died on July 24, 2025, at 71, reportedly from cardiac arrest. However, sources indicate that his death may have stemmed from medical malpractice following neck surgery in May, which allegedly severed his phrenic nerve, which is essential to normal breathing.
For context, the allegations were initially made by an occupational therapist present at Hogan’s home who reported the injury to the police. Hogan’s wife, Sky Daily, confirmed that the nerve was severed but declined to share details of the autopsy.
In any case, the occupational therapist was at Hogan’s home when he stopped cerathing, and alleged that the nerve was “severed’ from the recent surgery.” Speaking to the police, the therapist alleged, “[Hogan] may have been a victim of medical malpractice.”
Seemingly confirming the rumors, Sky Daily spoke to the media about the sudden death. She said that the wrestler passed shortly after a surgery, and “[The phrenic nerve was] ‘compromised’ during one of the procedures Hogan underwent for his neck.”
Commenting on the death, local authorities confirmed that they had been in contact with the family, saying, “We have been in communication with family members — including his son, Nick, and daughter, Brooke… The Hogan family has been appreciative of our efforts and our communication with them.”
Initially, Hulk Hogan’s death was announced in a post to Facebook, which read, “It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we confirm we have lost a legend… Our beloved Terry Bollea, known worldwide as Hulk Hogan, passed away today surrounded by his loved ones… He will be missed, but never forgotten.”
While many mourned his death, Sarah Rockwell, Alachua County School Board Chair, took the opportunity to take a cheap shot at Hogan after his passing. As we reported, she said, “Oh did Hulk die? I didn’t even know. Good. One less MAGA in the world,” adding, “[H]e worked with the McMahons to union-bust professional wrestling. [H]e’s never been a good guy. I feel absolutely nothing about his death.”

However, after a massive backlash, Rockwell was forced to apologize. She stated, “A few days ago, I made a cruel and flippant comment from my personal Facebook account on a friend’s post regarding the death of Hulk Hogan. I deeply regret making that comment and have since removed it.”
Continuing her shameful apology, the School Board Chair clarified, “I want to make it very clear that I never have and never will wish harm on anyone, regardless of whether we share political views. While I strongly disagree with some of the comments Hulk Hogan made, that is no excuse for my comment.”
Concluding her apology, Rockwell posted, “I want to assure all of you that the best interests of our children and our public schools are at the center of everything I do as a board member. I hope I have shown that by my record of advocacy for children, families, and staff members throughout Alachua County,” adding, “Again, I apologize for the hurt and distrust I have caused with my insensitive comment. I will continue to do the hard work of putting our children and schools first. I hope that I can earn back your trust.”
