WATCH: Leading House Republican Announces Further Campaign to Bring Down the Deep State

Speaking during an interview on Fox News Channel about the state of the Trump Administration’s war, alongside GOP members of Congress, with the corrupt and slimy “Deep State” that has done so much to harm the president, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer vowed that the Deep State will face “accountability” over its actions.

Rep. Comer’s comments on how the Trump administration and the various executive branches it controls, such as the Department of Justice and its Federal Bureau of Investigation, are “serious about holding the ‘deep state’ accountable,” came in the context of the FBI raids the home and office of former Ambassador and National Security Advisor John Bolton.

President Trump, for his part, had commented on the raid on Bolton’s home and office by first claiming plausible deniability about it, saying, “They’ll brief me probably today sometime. I don’t want to tell Pam and I tell the group: ‘I don’t want to know, but you just have to do what you have to do. I don’t want to know about it. It’s not necessary.'”

Continuing, he then added that, on the other hand, he could have known about it and even been the one directing what happened. With his usual dose of just enough humor and back and forth to make it extremely entertaining, the president said, “I could know about it. I could be the one starting it. I’m actually the chief law enforcement officer, but I feel that it’s better this way.”

In any case, Rep. Comer commented on the situation by noting that it shows just how serious the Trump Administration is about working for the American people and holding the Deep State accountable for its many sins. Beginning by commenting on “due process,” Rep. Comer said, “I don’t know what John Bolton did. Obviously, he deserves due process.”

Continuing, the congressman added that, be that as it may, what the raid and general situation really show is that the various branches of the Trump Administration are working together to deal with the long-lurking Deep State problem. He said, “But I do believe that Kash Patel and Pam Bondi and John Ratcliffe and Tulsi Gabbard are serious about holding the Deep State accountable.”

Concluding, Rep. Comer explained that what they need to do is punish the Deep State for what it has long been up to, particularly over the past ten years. He said, commenting on the cause of the Bolton raid, that it shows a committment ot punish him and others “for all the mistakes and all the abuses of power that we’ve witnessed from the Deep State over the past decade.”

Conservatives online, for their parts, loved seeing Bolton raided. One X poster, for example, was representative of many in noting, “My favorite thing about the Bolton raid is seeing all the NatSec/Bush administration ghouls be like ‘as I watched what was happening to my friend and Bethesda neighbor…’ as if that’s not going to make 70% of the country think it’s awesome.”

Similarly, longtime Trump ally Roger Stone, who was infamously raided by the FBI on what many saw as trumped up charges, chimed in and asked the Swamp figure how it feels to be raided by the FBI, saying, “Good morning. John Bolton. How does it feel to have your home raided at 6 o’clock in the morning?”
