“I Could Be the One Doing It”: Trump Gloats in Entertaining Fashion after John Bolton’s Home Was Raided by the FBI [WATCH]

In a surprising development in Trump’s ongoing fight with the deep state, FBI agents raided John Bolton’s home in Bethesda, Maryland, on August 22, 2025, as part of a security probe into classified documents, ordered by FBI Director Kash Patel.

For context, Bolton, a former Trump national security adviser and critic, was not detained and has been seen in public after the raid. The investigation, which began in Trump’s first term but was halted under the Biden administration, may relate to his controversial 2020 memoir.

In any case, reacting to the situation, President Trump gave a typically hilarious response. He quipped, “They’ll brief me probably today sometime. I don’t want to tell Pam and I tell the group: ‘I don’t want to know, but you just have to do what you have to do. I don’t want to know about it. It’s not necessary.’ I could know about it. I could be the one starting it. I’m actually the chief law enforcement officer, but I feel that it’s better this way.” During the raid, FBI Director Kash Patel took to X to make a cryptic post, which has left many observers puzzled. He posted,  “NO ONE is above the law… @FBI agents on mission.”

According to the New York Post, a high-ranking US official offered insight into the case on condition of anonymity. The senior official revealed, “While Bolton was a national security adviser, he was literally stealing classified information, utilizing his family as a cutout.”

However, the same source disputed the popular narrative on the case, saying, “[Prosecutors] talk about the book [in the warrants] because it’s good color for him already having essentially broken the law, but we’re not prosecuting him for that … [it has] absolutely 100% nothing to do with the book.”

Concluding, the senior US official declared that the book had nothing to do with the raid, stating, “All these people have been wrapping their heads around an axle about, ‘Oh, they’re really re-litigating the book?’ The book investigation is over. Who gives a f—?”

However, some leftists, such as NYT writer Miles Taylor, melted down over the raid. The journalist posted, “BREAKING: FBI raids former Trump nat’l security advisor John Bolton’s home. Bolton has become a major Trump critic since the first administration. You cannot ignore this, America. Our Republic is being used as a revenge machine.”

Oddly enough, Bolton was on X during the entirety of the raid and focused on foreign policy matters. The controversial former advisor said, “Russia has not changed its goal: drag Ukraine into a new Russian Empire. Moscow has demanded that Ukraine cede territory it already holds and the remainder of Donetsk, which it has been unable to conquer. Zelensky will never do so.”

In another mid-FBI-raid post to social media, John Bolton criticized Trump’s role in ongoing peace talks. Bolton whined, “Meanwhile, meetings will continue because Trump wants a Nobel Peace Prize, but I don’t see these talks making any progress.”
