Letitia James Lashes Out in Entertaining Fashion as Special Counsel Fraud Investigation Grinds Forward

Ed Martin, who was appointed as special counsel by Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate woke New York Attorney General Letitia James and infamous Trump-hater Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) for alleged mortgage fraud, has written James a letter.

For context, in the document, he suggests that the New York AG should resign “as an act of good faith,” prompting a massive meltdown from her attorney, Abbe Lowell, who accused Martin of violating DOJ ethics and staging a media stunt by inspecting James’ property.

In any case, Martin explained his reasoning in the letter, saying, “Her resignation from office would give the people of New York and America more peace than proceeding,” adding that, “I would take this as an act of good faith.”

Despite the respectful and professional tone, Abbe Lowell went on a tirade, lobbing baseless allegations at the special counsel. She claimed, “The DOJ has firm policies against using investigations and against using prosecutorial power for achieving political ends.”

Still not done whining, she complained, “This is ever more the case when that demand is made to seek political revenge against a public official in the opposite party. Concluding her remarks, she stated, “Let me be clear: that will not happen here.”

As we reported, this is not the only investigation the DOJ has launched on Letitia James. Consequently, Attorney General Pam Bondi has launched a grand jury investigation focusing on potential deprivation of rights in her $454 million civil fraud lawsuit against Donald Trump.

Reacting to this case, Lowell matched the relentless and theatrical tone of her other statements, saying, “Investigating the fraud case Attorney General James won against President Trump and his businesses has to be the most blatant and desperate example of this administration’s carrying out the president’s political retribution campaign.”

Continuing to make baseless allegations of unfair treatment, James’ representative whined, “Weaponizing the Department of Justice to try to punish an elected official for doing her job is an attack on the rule of law and a dangerous escalation by this administration. If prosecutors carry out this improper tactic and are genuinely interested in the truth, we are ready and waiting with the facts and law.”

Concluding her remarks, Lowell doubled down on the controversial AG’s rulings. The statement declared, “Any weaponization of the justice system should disturb every American. We stand strongly behind our successful litigation against the Trump Organization and the National Rifle Association, and we will continue to stand up for New Yorkers’ rights.”

Offering her take, the disgraced New York politician at the center of both scandals said, “If average New Yorkers went into a bank and submitted false documents, the government would throw the book at them, and the same should be true for former presidents.”

Building on this comment, James alleged, “Let me just say to all New Yorkers and to all Americans, the allegations are baseless. The allegations are nothing more than a revenge tour. And as you mentioned, my office was successful in securing a $454 million judgment against Donald Trump and others for exaggerating the value of his assets.”
