Providing a much-needed update on the major crime crackdown in Washington, D.C, officials, such as Steven Miller, revealed that over 240 arrests were made and 38 illegal guns seized. The operation, under the “Making D.C. Safe and Beautiful” task force, has targeted gang members, illegal immigrants, and other violent criminals.
For context, Stephen Miller noted that the results were “breathtaking,” specifically drawing attention to the removal of 70 homeless encampments and countless examples of gang graffiti. However, cynical Democrats, such as Mayor Muriel Bowser, have used the situation as a way to advance their political careers.
In any case, Stephen Miller, a special advisor to President Trump, revealed the good news. He explained, “We have seen a record number of violent offenders, bad guys, gang members and all kinds of threats to public safety removed off the streets as well as their illegal weapons that they’ve been using to terrorize the citizens of this city.”
Adding more context, Miller explained, “Additionally, we have seen over 70 homeless encampments that have scarred and disfigured the public streets of this city, dismantled and thrown away, and the homeless cleared from those encampments. At the same time, we have the National Park Service going around and getting rid of the gang graffiti that has been left untouched by this city for decades.” He also said that the arrests were “breathtaking.”
Reacting to this major win for law and order, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser attempted to twist the situation to her own benefit. She called the mobilization “unsettling and unprecedented,” and argued, “My message to residents is this. We know that access to our democracy is tenuous. That is why you have heard me and many Washingtonians before me advocate for full statehood.”
Additionally, infamous woke activist Reverend Al Sharpton slammed the decision to send in the National Guard. In a typically race-baiting response, Sharpton declared, “Donald Trump was inspired to take this disgusting, dangerous, and derogatory action solely out of self-interest. Let’s call the inspiration for this assault on a majority Black city for what it is: another bid to distract his angry, frustrated base over his administration’s handling of the Epstein files.”
As we reported, Trump offered a detailed insight into his reasons for federalizing the DC police force. He described the violence plaguing our capital city. He announced, “Our capital city has been overtaken by violent gangs and bloodthirsty criminals, roving mobs of wild youth, drugged-out maniacs and homeless people… And we’re not going to let it happen anymore. We’re not going to take it.”

Adding to his argument, the president said, “We’re taking it back under the authority vested in me as the president of the United States. I’m officially invoking section 740 of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act… And placing the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department under direct federal control… In addition, I’m deploying the National Guard to help reestablish law, order, and public safety in Washington, D.C. And they’re going to be allowed to do their job properly.”
