WATCH: Adam Schiff Resurrects “Russia” Narrative to Attack President Trump

In a stunning act of not reading the room, Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA), currently under fire for his role in the infamous “Russia Hoax” from the 2016 election and first Trump Administration, brought back the “Russia” influence narrative to attack President Trump after the president travelled to Alaska to meet with Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin and discuss potential peace plans for the Russo-Ukraine War.

Such is what came when Sen. Schiff appeared on CNN’s “The Lead” to discuss the matter with CNN personality Jake Tapper on Friday, August 15, the same day that President Trump met with Putin in the Anchorage, Alaska, peace summit. Sen. Schiff insisted that President Trump has shown himself to be susceptible to Russian influence and can’t be trusted to make a fair peace.

Beginning, the senator clutched his pearls and insisted that he is “deeply concerned” about what President Trump might do as he met with President Putin, and discusses peace plans that come out of this in the future, saying, “I’m really deeply concerned about what comes out of this.”

Continuing, Schiff attacked Trump for not being on the side of the intelligence agencies, ignoring the signal fact that those intelligence agencies appear to have plotted against him repeatedly. He said, “We saw in Trump one, that disastrous summit in Helsinki, where the president took the Russian dictator’s side over our own intelligence agencies. I would hate to see a repeat of that.”

Then, getting to the bit about manipulation, Sen. Schiff insisted that Trump should be advocating for what is best for the Ukrainians rather than the American people, saying, “On the way to the summit, he’s saying that he’s not there to negotiate on behalf of Ukraine. He’s praising the Belarusian dictator, and I’m concerned about how easily he could be manipulated by Putin.”

Giving an example of supposed manipulation that would be good for America, Schiff said, “If Putin praises him, if Putin offers some kind of a joint oil or mineral exploration in the Arctic, and Trump thinks that, hey, this is his ticket to some kind of a deal and some kind of a peace prize. He never really has seemed to have support for Ukraine in his bones it has to be forced on him.”

Concluding, the angry senator told Tapper, “So I’m deeply worried about what could come out of this. And, you know, ideally, it would be a ceasefire. But I suspect that whatever Putin suggests, you really can’t count on, the proof will be whether it really manifests after they leave Alaska.”

Trump, for his part, posted after the meeting and noted that he is working with the Russians and Ukrainians. He said, “A great and very successful day in Alaska! The meeting with President Vladimir Putin of Russia went very well, as did a late night phone call with President Zelenskyy of Ukraine, and various European Leaders, including the highly respected Secretary General of NATO.”

He added, “It was determined by all that the best way to end the horrific war between Russia and Ukraine is to go directly to a Peace Agreement, which would end the war, and not a mere Ceasefire Agreement, which often times do not hold up. President Zelenskyy will be coming to D.C., the Oval Office, on Monday afternoon. If all works out, we will then schedule a meeting with President Putin. Potentially, millions of people’s lives will be saved. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
