Guhaad Hashi Said, the former so-called “enforcer” for U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) campaign, has pleaded guilty to a raft of charges for wire fraud and money laundering. According to the court, from 2020 to 2022, Said misappropriated $2.9 million from the Federal Child Nutrition Program, also known as the Feeding Our Future program.
For context, the disgraced politico used his nonprofit, Advance Youth Athletic Development, to submit fraudulent meal claims. Acting U.S. Attorney Joseph H. Thompson explained that this type of fraud is a widespread crisis in Minnesota.
Such was shown when Thompson announced the conviction of the politically connected fraudster. He stated, “The conviction of the 52nd defendant in the Feeding our Future case is yet another reminder of the vast reach of this fraud and the scale of the crisis we face in Minnesota.”
Building out his remarks, the Acting U.S. Attorney described a complicated ring of criminals behind this arrest. He noted, “These crimes are not isolated events. They are part of a web of schemes targeting programs that are intended to lift up Minnesotans and bleeding them dry.”
Concluding his remarks, he painted a vivid picture saying, “From where I sit, the scale of the fraud in Minnesota is staggering, and every rock we turn over reveals more, we must be honest and clear-eyed about the scope of this problem, because ending it will take an unyielding, all-hands-on-deck effort from all of us.”
In a post to social media, the FBI quoted the Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Minneapolis Division
Alvin M. Winston Sr. The seasoned agent explained, “Yesterday, Guhaad Said pleaded guilty to charges related to his role in a sprawling fraud scheme designed to financially enrich the defendants at the expense of hungry children. Said stole money, falsified paperwork submitted to the government, and was reimbursed millions of dollars to which he was not entitled.”
Promising to go after fraudsters tirelessly, Winston stated, “The FBI, together with our law enforcement partners, will ensure this fraud stops, and we will ensure that every defendant in this investigation is held fully accountable for their conduct.”

Reacting to this shocking case, many conservatives took to social media to demand that Omar resign from her position. One such comment said, “Ilhan should be removed from Congress. She is as unAmerican as they come.”
Echoing these remarks, other comments under the same post criticise the controversial representative and her party for their connection to the scandal. One such comment read, “That’s the only reason these people are in politics, to grift. Every penny of their wealth should be seized and they should be sent home.”
Annoyed by this massive fraud ring, one conservative woman wrote, “They more they hate you, the more they tell you they hate you, the more they lie, cheat, and steal from you with impunity the more you choose to elect them to office and grant them power over you. America… and the West in general… how did we let things get this crazy?”
