WATCH: Border Patrol Agents Make Arrests Outside Gavin Newsom Rally in California

At an anti-Trump rally in Los Angeles, California, Governor Gavin Newsom attacked President Trump as well as Texas Governor Greg Abbott. Dubbed “Liberation Day” in a blatant mockery of Trump’s recent decision to federalize Washington, DC, police, Newsom held the event to criticize the GOP-led redistricting in Texas.

For context, U.S. Border Patrol agents, who were present in large numbers, arrested at least one protester, prompting Newsom’s team to refer to the agents as Trump’s private army, and claimed that the CBP officers were trespassing illegally on private property.

Reacting to these shrill and out-of-touch remarks, Patrol Chief Gregory Bovino defended their actions, stating they were making Los Angeles safer. Gavin Newsom melted down and said that the presence of the agents was a deliberate provocation.

Announcing the cheap and theatrical protest on social media, saying, “Donald Trump and [Texas Governor] Greg Abbott are going to have a very bad day today.” During his speech at the event, he noted, “Right outside at this exact moment are dozens and dozens of ICE agents.”

Continuing his hysterical remarks, the California Governor and potential presidential candidate laid out a bizarre conspiracy theory. Newsom alleged, “Do you think it’s coincidental? Donald Trump and his minions, Tom Homan, tough guy. Decided, coincidentally or not, that this was a location to advance ICE arrests. Indiscriminate? Perhaps. we’ll find out later.”

Continuing his baseless claims, Newsom argued that Trump was violating constitutional rights by using the National Guard to restore order. He continued, “Wake up, America. this is a serious moment. Wake up to what’s going on. Wake up to the fear, anxiety. Wake up to what’s happening. Not just here in Los Angeles, where we saw our streets militarized, where we saw our due process rights thrown out the window. That’s Trump’s America. That’s the moment we’re living in. So, these are sober times.”

Clarifying the actual reasons for the strong response by the Trump administration, Border Patrol Chief Gregory Bovino spoke to the media. The official directly stated,  “We’re here making Los Angeles a safer place.”

Making an indirect criticism of the woke Golden State governor, Bovino made it clear that he would not be intimidated. Confidently addressing critics, he said,  “Since we won’t have politicians who will do that, we do that ourselves. So, that’s why we’re here today. As you can see, already making it a safer place.” Adding to this argument, Bovino said, “We’re glad to be here, not going anywhere.”

Leaving no room for doubt, the Border Patrol Chief addressed Newsom with a withering retort. He declared,  “Again, we’re making Los Angeles a safer place, we’re going to continue to do that, and they can take that one to the bank and cash it.”

    Watch the clip here:

After the arrest, Newsom’s office spoke to the media in a typically hysterical statement, which read, “WE WILL NOT BE INTIMIDATED BY WEAK LITTLE DONALD TRUMP, THE CRIMINAL PRESIDENT!”
Echoing these sentiments, his team took to social media to post, “TRUMP’S PRIVATE ARMY IS ILLEGALLY ON PRIVATE PROPERTY!!!!”
