WATCH: James Comer Announces Bill Clinton is “Prime Suspect” in Epstein Investigation

Speaking during an interview on Newsmax, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) commented on the Epstein investigation and described former President Bill Clinton as “a prime suspect” in it, telling the network and its viewers that the House would be looking into why the former president spent so much time with the pedophile.

As background, while the Trump Administration has largely fumbled the rollout of any information it has on Epstein, it and Republicans in the legislature have since tried to recover on that front, one very important to the MAGA base, by launching renewed investigations into the matter, such as the one referenced by Comer.

So, speaking to Newsmax host Rob Finnerty during the interview, Rep. Comer commented on Bill Clinton’s connections to Epstein and noted that they would be investigated. That came when Finnerty asked him about the matter of what happened on Epstein Island and if it would be investigated. He first said, “I just want to ask you one question, Mr. Chairman. The American people want to know what happened on Epstein Island.”

Continuing, the Newsmax host asked whether Bill Clinton would actually have to testify about his connections to Epstein: “I’m not gonna drop this topic. You’ve subpoenaed Bill Clinton. He’s gonna fight you tooth and nail, with the best lawyers in the country in some cases. Do you think Bill Clinton ever actually testifies?”

Responding, Rep. Comer noted that Democrats and Republicans worked together to subpoena Clinton to testify on the matter, though it still took much battling to ram it through. He said, “I think we have a very good chance at this. I’ve never lost a subpoena battle, I’ve been chairman of that committee for a year and a half, this is the most challenging subpoena I’ve ever issued, but what makes this subpoena different is that the Democrats voted with Republicans.”

Continuing, he noted that while Bill Clinton’s legal team will put up a stiff fight, Republicans and Democrats are united on the issue of getting answers, saying, “This is a bipartisan, congressionally-approved subpoena, and I think that will hold a lot of weight in court, and you’re absolutely right, he’s gonna have the best lawyers in America fighting us tooth and toenail on this, but the fact that this was voted on by Republicans and Democrats…”

Adding to that, the House Oversight Committee Chairman noted that Americans on right and left want to know what was going on with Epstein, and so those who are alleged to be close to him, such as Bill Clinton, need to be investigated. He said, “Everybody in America wants to know what went on in Epstein Island, and we’ve all heard reports that Bill Clinton was a frequent visitor there.”

Concluding, Comer noted that, as a result of those connections, Clinton is a “prime suspect” and needs to be investigated. He said, “So he’s a prime suspect to be deposed by the House Oversight Committee. So hopefully we’ll win that court battle with that subpoena and see President Clinton in October.”
