WATCH: Leading Democrat Freaks Out as Trump DOJ Cracks Down on Democrats Accused of Fraud

In a very unintentionally funny appearance on CNN, far-left Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD), seen by many as an informal leader of the Democratic Party in Congress given his many years in the job and especially outspoken nature, whined about President Trump’s Department of Justice going after Democrats accused of illegal activity.

Particularly, Rep. Raskin whined on CNN’s “OutFront” about how the DOJ is going after New York Attorney General Letitia James, who is not only being investigated for mortgage fraud but is also facing a criminal investigation surrounding her persecution by prosecution of President Donald Trump and the National Rifle Association.

In fact, Rep. Raskin insisted that President Trump is weaponizing the DOJ by investigating prominent politicians who are accused of fraud, insisting that the investigations are coming not out of an interest in justice but because President Trump remembers the wrongs done him and his allies and wants to respond with a “revenge tour.”

Raskin’s entertaining whining came when “OutFront” guest host Jim Scuitto asked him, “When you look at these two cases, the civil fraud case, trial judge ruled Trump inflated his worth. And you look at the case against the NRA, a jury determined the NRA CEO misspent the organization’s funds. Anything criminal in those cases that you can perceive? And do you see this as evidence that he is now weaponizing the Justice Department?

Raskin, responding, insisted from the start that the president is “on a political revenge tour,” telling Scuitto, “Well, of course he is. He’s on a political revenge tour. Look, in America, if you disagree with a prosecution or a civil lawsuit that’s been brought against you, then you mount a defense against it.”

Continuing, the far-left congressman insisted that the absurd and obscene judgment obtained against Trump, one totalling nearly half a billion dollars and which is currently being appealed, is proof of AG James being in the right, saying, “Donald Trump had high-priced lawyers working for a defense against the civil fraud suit, but he was found guilty and fined $450 million in debt.”

Adding to that before changing tack somewhat, Rep. Raskin ignored that the judgment has not been paid because it is being appealed and the appeal looks likely to win, insinuating that President Trump is, instead, deeply in debt. He said, “He owes that is now worth more than a half billion dollars because he still hasn’t paid it.”

Concluding his angry rant about President Trump’s attacks on NY AG Letitia James by insisting that the suit in the deep blue states against the NRA, a pro-2nd Amendment organization, was just and fair as well. He said, “It’s the same thing with respect to the civil lawsuit against Wayne LaPierre. He lost his suit for having misspent millions of dollars that belonged to the NRA.”

Commenters online were largely unsympathetic to Rep. Raskin. One poster on X, for example, said, “Jamie Raskin says that Trump is weaponizing the DOJ for his, ‘political revenge tour.’ After all the lawfare you libs put him through, you shouldn’t be surprised that it’s coming back on you. You reap what you sow.”

On much the same note, another poster on X claimed, “Raskin and his ilk weaponized the government against Trump, and Trump is going to make sure that doesn’t happen again. If you want to call that a political revenge tour, you have only yourselves to blame.”
