Stephen Colbert’s “The Late Show” has finally been canceled by CBS and its owner, Paramount, and conservatives have been gloating about that since it was announced, finding it very funny that the Trump Derangement Syndrome-afflicted television host had finally faced his due for not being funny. Now, President Trump has chimed in to joke that Jimmy Kimmel might be next.
As background, much like Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel has long been quite disliked by MAGA conservatives because of his continual and virulent attacks on President Trump. In addition to being annoyed by his bad-faith attacks on the president, many see Kimmel as not doing his job as a supposed comedian when he focuses on unfunny politics instead of cracking jokes.
President Trump then chimed in on the matter and roasted Kimmel when speaking to Real America’s Voice reporter Brian Glenn during a press conference on Wednesday, August 6, commenting on both Howard Stern’s radio show reportedly being ended and Stephen Colbert being told his show is going to be taken off the air permanently after this season.
When asked by Glenn about if woke comedy is finally coming to a crashing end, as shown by Colbert and Stern, President Trump said, “Howard Stern is a name I haven’t heard — I used to do his show, we used to have fun — but I haven’t heard that name in a long time.”
Then, asking what specifically had happened to Stern, Trump said, “What happened? He got terminated?” Glenn told him that Stern and SiriusXM are parting ways over disagreements, and Trump said, “You know when he went down? When he endorsed Hillary Clinton.” The president added, “He lost his audience. People said, ‘Give me a break.’ He went down when he endorsed Hillary Clinton.”
President Trump also commented, when Glenn asked, on if the “hate Trump” model of entertainment is finally ending, with all these woke show hosts seeing their former media empires coming to an end. The president said, “Well, it hasn’t worked. And it hasn’t worked, really, for a long time, and I would say pretty much from the beginning.”
Continuing, he roasted Colbert and joked that the late-night comedian has no comedic talent, as a couple random people off the street could do a far better job being funny on television than Colbert. He said, “Colbert has no talent. I mean, I could take anybody here. I could go outside in the beautiful streets and pick a couple of people that do just as well or better. They’d get higher ratings than he did. He’s got no talent.”

Adding to that, the president argued that both Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel have no talent and so are going to be the next slew of supposed comedians who see their shows canceled. He said, “Fallon has no talent. Kimmel has no talent. They’re next. They’re going to be going. I hear they’re going to be going. I don’t know, but I would imagine because they’d get—you know, Colbert has better ratings than Kimmel or Fallon.”
Watch the president here:
President Trump has said much the same thing before. Posting on Truth Social in the wake of Colbert’s show’s cancellation, the president wrote, “The word is, and it’s a strong word at that, Jimmy Kimmel is NEXT to go in the untalented Late Night Sweepstakes and, shortly thereafter, Fallon will be gone.”
Continuing, he hammered them as having absolutely no talent and being bad for television, saying, “These are people with absolutely NO TALENT, who were paid Millions of Dollars for, in all cases, destroying what used to be GREAT Television. It’s really good to see them go, and I hope I played a major part in it!”
