In a disorganized and rambling speech, former President Joe Biden criticized the Trump administration for supposedly making changes to Social Security. While Trump and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) have repeatedly said that nobody will lose their SSI, Democrats have repeated this baseless attack for their cynical aims.
For context, Social Security has been a significant focus for the Trump administration. During the initial 90 days of his presidency, Donald Trump partnered with tech-genius Elon Musk to root out endemic fraud, waste, and corruption within the vital government program.
Starting his April 15, 2025, screed, Biden began with a theatrical proclamation. The Democrat whined, “In fewer than 100 days, this new administration has done so much damage and so much destruction. It’s kind of breathtaking that it could happen that soon,” adding, “They’re certainly breaking things. They’re shooting first and aiming later.”
Repeating baseless claims, Biden alleged, “People can’t sign onto their accounts. What do you think it does that woman’s living alone a 74 years check and just not able to even find out whether she can’t even find out what that disability claim is she had. She can’t file a new disability claim.”
Still not done, Biden waxed lyrical about the history of the program in his unorganized speech. He rambled, “In the 90 years since Franklin Roosevelt created the social security system, people have always gotten their social security checks. They’ve gotten them during wartime, during recessions, during a pandemic. No matter what, they got them. But now, for the first time ever, that might change. It’d be a calamity for millions of families.”
Biden also addressed the remarks from Trump about the allegations about 130-year-old Social Security accounts, which many have attributed to widespread fraud. The Democrat argued, “I want to meet them because I’d like to figure out how they live that long. I’m looking for longevity.”
During his unorganized comments, Biden addressed the “profound” psychological impact of losing your social security check, which is a baseless lie, oft repeated by DNC activists. He asked Republicans, “How do you sleep at night?”

The former president also slammed Musk for calling the program a “Ponzi scheme,” and made remarks about his mother. He noted, “She’s probably a lovely woman. No kidding, her son-in-law is a billionaire. What about the 94-year-old mother living all by herself?”
Winding down his bizarre speech, Biden turned his remarks to his successor. Echoing months of protests, the former president said “Nobody’s king,” and criticised Trump supporters, stating, “30% of the country that has no heart.”

Still not done, he concluded his remarks with a cheap emotional appeal. The aging Democrat declared, “It’s what we see in America. It’s what we believe in – fairness. And that’s the America we can never forget or walk away from.”
