In a very sweet and touching tribute released online in the wake of his father’s passing, Nick Hogan, son of now-passed professional wrestling icon Hulk Hogan, posted his thoughts about his father alongside a carousel of nearly two-dozen pictures of him with his dad over the years. The ost came shortly after his father’s passing.

As background, Hulk Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, passed away on Thursday, July 24. He apparently died of a cardiac event that occurred in his home in Clearwater, Florida, and his passed sparked an outpouring of grief, with everyone from Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to commenters online.

Beginning his post about his dad and the massive outpouring of grief that came with his passing, Nick Hogan said, “Thank you to everyone who has reached out to me and comforted me over the last few days. It truly means a lot. I’m sorry to everyone I have not responded to yet. This has been overwhelming and extremely difficult.”

Continuing, he thanked those who have chimed in with comments about how his dad affected their lives, noting that it was “comforting” to hear so many nice stories. He said, “Hearing so many kind words and stories about my dad’s life, interactions and experiences with everyone has been incredible and comforting.”

Building on that, he then gave his own thoughts about his dad, who he described as his “best friend.” He said, “My dad was the most incredible person I’ve ever known and will always be my hero. He was the most kind, loving and amazing father anybody could ask for. I feel so blessed to have had the greatest dad in the world. He was not only the best dad but also my mentor and my best friend. He always has been my best friend and I love him and miss him more than I could ever explain.”

Building on that, he commented on his powerful memories of his father and how glad he is that he  moved back to Florida to be closer to him, saying, “I thanked him for everything he has ever done for me and told him how much I loved him and hugged him every chance I got. I spent a lot of time with him the past few years after moving back to Florida to be closer to him and I am so grateful for those memories. They are the best moments in my life.”

Then, commenting more on the metaphysical aspect of thinking about death and his dad after life, Nick said, “I would do anything to have him back but I know now that he will always be watching over me. I will always remember the lessons and advice he gave me and carry on in a way that I know would make him proud.”

Concluding, he thanked his father for having been such a good dad and friend, saying “I love you” one last time from beyond the grave. He wrote, touchingly, “Thank you for being the best dad in the world and thank you for being my best friend. I love you so much Big Dog and I will miss you forever.”
