Stephen Colbert’s horrid show on CBS is finally scheduled to be off the air for good, and conservatives online couldn’t be happier to see the woke propagandist given the boot and forced off the air. In fact, one such person celebrating Colbert’s removal from supposedly comedic television noted one of the many reasons why all-time great Johnny Carson was so much better than Colbert.
As background, Colbert said that he had learned on the night of Wednesday, July 16, that, after spending about a decade on air, The Late Show is being canceled and “next year will be our last season.” In fact, the show is being completely canceled, and he won’t even be replaced. The audience started booing when he announced that the show was being canceled, and he admitted that he agreed with them on that. He said, “Yeah, I share your feelings.” He then added, on that same point, that the show is gone for good and he with it, saying, “It’s not just the end our our show, but it’s the end of The Late Show on CBS. I’m not being replaced. This is all just going away.”
CBS, commenting on the decision to cancel the show, said, “We consider Stephen Colbert irreplaceable and will retire ‘THE LATE SHOW’ franchise at that time.” Continuing, the joint statement from CBS executives admitted, “We are proud that Stephen called CBS home. He and the broadcast will be remembered in the pantheon of greats that graced late night television.”
Many conservatives took to X (formerly Twitter) to cheer the news after it broke, celebrating that woke Colbert, known mainly for unfunny “comedy” attacking Trump and boosting Democrats like Kamala Harris, is off the air and won’t be able to push propaganda disguised as comedy to his audience anymore.
Amongst those who commented on the propaganda aspect of Colbert’s supposed comedy was an X poster going by “Jason ‘Storm Chaser’ Nelson”. Nelson noted that Colbert’s continual efforts to cozy up with politicians shows why Carson was so much funnier than he, as Carson was actually committed to comedy.
Beginning, Nelson noted that Carson only occassionally brought on politicians, whereas Colbert loaded his show with them. He said, “In 30 years of late-night comedy TV, Johnny Carson hosted sitting US Senators a total of 14 times- less than 1 every 2 seasons. Stephen Colbert? In only 10 years he has hosted Senators EIGHTY-FOUR TIMES!”
Continuing, Nelson noted that Colbert of course wasn’t funny, given that statistic, as he was focused on cozying up to senators while pushing leftist propaganda rather than being funny and entertaining for the audience, as Carson was. He said, “No wonder he was cancelled- it wasn’t funny. Make America Laugh Again!”

One of many conservatives’ favorite clips of Carson comes from four decades ago, when Carson roasted Joe Biden. In the famous clip from almost 40 years ago, Carson said, “One of the Democratic candidates is Senator Joseph Biden. Have you seen the problem he’s been having? He went around and made a speech. And apparently, he quoted, I think it was a British politician, took his speech and kind of paraphrased it as his own. And then the press got on him.”
Carson further noted in his commentary that this was not an isolated incident either, claiming Biden had also plagiarized a speech from former United States Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy. “And then he was charged also with taking part of Bobby Kennedy’s speeches,” Carson added. In a brilliant quip, the host then joked, “And Biden says, not to worry, he reassured his staff. He said, ‘we have nothing to fear, but fear itself.’”
