Republican lawmakers are up in arms, after a startling report from DNI director Tulsi Gabbard revealed a “treasonous” plot from the Obama administration to promote the Trump-Russia collusion narrative. The recently declassified documents not only confirm that Russia did not alter the 2016 election, but indicate that several high-ranking officials knowingly ran with the story to harm Trump.
For context, reacting to the bombastic claims, Republicans, including House Speaker Mike Johnson and Senator Tom Cotton, condemned the deep state for stopping at nothing to harm President Trump. Gabbard and others called for accountability, with several suggesting that treason charges be considered.
Explaining the fraught situation, Tulsi Gabbard, Director of National Intelligence (DNI), said that “Americans will finally learn the truth” about the controversial actions of former President Obama. She added, “These documents detail a treasonous conspiracy by officials at the highest levels of the Obama White House to subvert the will of the American people and try to usurp the President from fulfilling his mandate.”
Explaining why this scheme represents a significant threat to America, she added, “This betrayal concerns every American. The integrity of our democratic republic demands that every person involved be investigated and brought to justice to prevent this from ever happening again.”
Teasing the possible consequences of these unprecedented actions, Gabbard suggested that treason charges may be warranted. The DNI director stated, “No matter how powerful, every person involved in this conspiracy must be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, to ensure nothing like this ever happens again. The American people’s faith and trust in our democratic republic and therefore the future of our nation depends on it.”
Reacting to these shocking allegations of fraud, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) slammed the Obama administration. He declared, “DISMANTLING THE DEEP STATE! New evidence from @DNIGabbard confirms what we’ve long known: The Russia hoax was a political hit job manufactured by Obama officials and weaponized by intel agencies to take down President Trump,” adding, “Accountability is long overdue!”
Similarly, Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) noted that the country would take a long time to forgive the agencies involved in promoting this false narrative. He said, ” It will take decades for the Intelligence Community to recover from the damage done during the Obama and Biden presidencies. These partisan democrats were desperate to defeat and undermine President Trump.”

Mike Collins (R-GA) posted, “There it is. @DNIGabbard released a classified briefing that shows Obama and the intelligence community colluded to create the Russia hoax. Truth is being uncovered in the Trump Administration, and everyone responsible for this hoax should be held accountable.”
