During a seemingly frantic appearance on Newsmax TV’s “Wake Up America” program, former Jeffrey Epstein defense attorney Alan Dershowitz, who has been accused by Epstein victims of being involved in morally wrong things alongside Epstein, freaked out over the recent attention on Epstein and claimed that no Epstein client list exists.
As background, now-deceased Epstein accuser Virginia Guiffre accused Alan Dershowitz of preying upon her in the early 2000s, though she later dropped her suit an said she might have been a mistake in 2022. She said, at the time, “I now recognize I may have made a mistake in identifying Mr. Dershowitz.” However, Sarah Ransome, another Epstein victim, has insisted that Dershowitz preyed upon her and another Epstein victim in Epstein’s Manhattan townhouse. Dershowitz has denied all allegations completely and vociferously.
In any case, Dershowitz freaked out when Marc Lotter, the Newsmax show host, broached the matter of the Epstein list. Lotter said, “Generally, prosecutors share the evidence with the defense. So if there was a list, you would know about it. The FBI, DOJ says it doesn’t exist. Is there an Epstein client list?”
Responding with eyebrow-raising vigor, Dershowitz snapped that no such list ever existed. He said, “Absolutely not. There never has been. Jeffrey Epstein never made a list or created a black book, or anything of any people who may have had improper sex with any of the young women. What did happen is the FBI interviewed people, and the courts — the court’s judges redacted the names of some of the people from the FBI files and from other material that was presented to the court.”
Continuing, Dershowitz insisted that other people might have been involved but none of them are currently officials or even prominent people, though it was unclear of he was using tricky language to avoid addressing whether past men of prominence or public office were involved.
He said, on that point, “I know who those people are, because I obviously did a thorough investigation. And even though the names are redacted from context, I could figure out who they are. None of them are current public officials or elected officials or current prominent people.”
Adding to that without providing much detail of note, Dershowitz then said, “Some are dead, some are retired, but there are no smoking guns. Moreover, we don’t know whether any of these allegations are true because among the information that’s been suppressed has been negative information about the accusers, because the courts have basically said, ‘Look, these accusers are victims and we’re not going to give their names. We’re not going to give negative information about them.’”

Concluding, Dershowitz noted that everything should be released so that the public can assess which accusations are creditable and which are not, saying, “So what I’ve said from the very beginning is everything going to be released — that is, every accused person’s name, every accuser, all the information about the accusers, so that we in the court of public opinion can make our own assessment about whether or not these are these accusations are credible, some are not. Obviously, we know that from experience.”
