Jim Jordan Triggers Leftist Author with Epic Tweet

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), one of the best, if not the best, Republicans in Congress right now, just made some major waves by posting about the progression of gun control under the left.

Specifically, Rep. Jordan drew attention to how the left has worked to gradually erode our rights and freedoms, whittling away at the rights that used to be treated as sacrosanct before moving on to take away things that an American from even a decade ago would have trouble believing the government would ever come for. In his post, Rep. Jordan said:

First, they came for your guns.

    Then, your gas stoves.

    Then, your gas cars.

    What’s next?

Well, as could be expected, Rep. Jordan’s tweet triggered the left. Far-left author Stephen King, for example, replied by saying “You.”

    You.

    — Stephen King (@StephenKing) January 28, 2023

Similarly, others on the left freaked out and replied with unhinged comments, saying things like:

“No they didn’t. Nobody is coming for any of those.”

“What’s next @Jim_Jordan? Coming for you. Your time in DC needs to end. In spite of your lying tweet, nobody is coming for guns. Because of scum of the earth like you, too many Americans end up as the victims of gun violence. This is my daughter Jaime. Murdered in school.”

“Hopefully, in your case, your smart phone & keyboards, so you can’t type such offensive things anymore. (You do realize it’s Holocaust Remembrance Day, and you’re paraphrasing Niemöller, right? You cannot possibly be ignorant enough not to know this.)”

“First, they came for your voting rights. Then, they came for your bodily autonomy. Then, they came for your books, your history lessons, your gender identity, your right to choose who you love & marry, your birth control. That is WHY they want to distract you with gas stoves.”

“We are coming after your Senate seat! That is what is next you pathological liar.”

“Hmm. You came after Reproductive Rights.Gay Marriage. Black History. Non-Christian Religious Freedom. Voting Rights. Public Education. Net Neutrality. Clean Air and Water. Seriously, what the Hell are you gonna attack next while distracting people w “gas stoves?””

“Republicans adding 30% tax to your rent, groceries, cars, republicans want the rest of your earnings , so they can allow billionaires to live tax free”

“Warning-GRAPHIC CONTENT (Paul Pelosi’s attack)-This is exactly what happens when the rhetoric that comes out of Trump and GOP extremist, holding seats in leadership, are not condemned. This is disgusting and we need change!”

So, Jordan succeeded in utterly infuriating and triggering the left with his tweet, which a paraphrased version of a post-war poem by a Lutheran minister named Martin Niemöller. Here is that poem, called “First They Came For…”:

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
