Reacting to a recent Supreme Court ruling, a prominent conservative took to social media to explore the possibility that Judge James Boasberg may face impeachment for his actions. The recent ruling found that federal district judges cannot issue nationwide injunctions after a decisive 6-3 vote.
For context, Judge James Boasberg initially rose to prominence after he used his power to block Trump from invoking the Alien Enemies Act to deport Venezuelan gangsters in a decisive example of judicial overreach. While Boasberg was one of many activist judges, he became a symbol of activist judges who use their power unconstitutionally to impede Trump.
In any case, Nick Soptor, a prominent conservative influencer, took to X, formerly Twitter, on June 26, 2025, to post, 🚨” Now that most nationwide injunctions have effectively been ruled UNCONSTITUTIONAL, we need to start IMPEACHING the judges who used them, starting with this clown: Judge Boasberg. He’s been trying to play President for SIX MONTHS now. IMPEACH HIM, @HouseGOP.”
In the comments under his post, conservatives, enraged by Boassberg’s actions, expressed their desire to see the judge punished. One such comment read, “Audit @USCourts, the agency that runs the Federal Courts and employs the Federal Judges It has a $10 BILLION annual budget. Massive corruption, luxury spending, nepotism- it is the most corrupt agency in US history.”
Building on this point, another user said, “Exactly @SpeakerJohnson and @LeaderJohnThune need to start doing their jobs….These liberal activist Judges have overstepped their judicial authority and need to be impeached! Or, better yet, due to the Auto-Pen, rule everything Biden’s admin did as null and void and remove every judicial appointment made during his 4 fraudulent years.”
Chiming in to support Sotor’s post, a conservative noted, “Agreed, we need to start impeaching them all. The ineffective Senate will never convict them, but we need the @GOPHouse to bring them in and question them in a televised committee meeting. They need to be accountable to the American people.”
Taking a moment to defend AG Pam Bondi, another comment stated, “Side note: For all the “Pam Bondi was a huge mistake” people; They had to prepare and argue all of these SCOTUS cases. Not to mention the thousands of federal arrests of foreign gang members. I doubt she’s getting much sleep.”

Reacting to the post in a lengthy comment, one commenter replied, “Nationwide injunctions have been a tool for judicial overreach, allowing single judges to dictate policy for the entire country—a clear abuse of power. While impeachment requires evidence of “high crimes and misdemeanors,” the real issue is Congress’s failure to rein in activist judges who legislate from the bench. The House Judiciary Committee should prioritize reforming the judiciary’s scope, not just targeting individual judges.”
Continuing, the same account explained, “For example, Bill Title in 2023 sought to limit injunctions to the parties involved, but D.C. insiders killed it to preserve their power. Accountability starts with structural change, not just performative impeachments,” adding, “Until then, taxpayers fund a system where unelected bureaucrats in robes override elected representatives. Fix the process, then focus on the players.”
