In a typical embarrassing rant, Rep. Jasime Crockett (D-TX) melted down in Congress while taking wild swings at Fox News and the freedom of speech. Her remarks, which attacked the constitution and other hallmarks of American culture, received widespread condemnation from online conservatives.
For context, Crockett, a Democrat representing Texas’s 30th district since 2023, has been at the center of several high-profile confrontations, including a notable clash with Senator JD Vance in May 2025 over federal housing reform, as well as harsh attacks against Texas Governor Greg Abbott.
In any case, she made her remarks on March 26, 2025, in a contentious House hearing. Crockett declared, “And to be clear, free speech is not about whatever it is that y’all want somebody to say. And the idea that you want to shut down everybody that is not Fox News is bullsh*t.”
Continuing her unhinged remarks, the Texas Democrat said, “We need to stop playing because that’s what y’all are doing in here. You don’t want to hear the opinions in any of anybody else. And the Constitution says Congress shall make no law respecting or establishing religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or abridging”
At this point, the chair of the meeting interjected, saying, “The gentle woman’s time has expired,” while speaking over Crockett’s frantic and disrespectful remarks, and trying to restore order to the House despite his shameful display.
When a clip of the incident was posted to X, conservatives reacted by condemning the far-left Democrat. One such comment said, “A few years ago, she was well spoken and reasonable, or so it seemed. This is an act and it is meant to get her to fame, and fast. She has decided any attention in the mainstream media, and, especially, social media is good.”
Continuing, the same user said, “To use her new patois – she is making bank on this new persona. Maybe we need to just ignore her and see what comes of it…Her dad is a pastor…I am sure he loves her, but he must also be mortified, even if he doesn’t admit it. He sent her to the best schools that he could (or could not) afford in St. Louis.”

Slamming the radical tone of the DNC one comment read, “When elected officials resort to rants instead of policy, it’s clear they’re out of ideas. Maybe it’s time for substance, not spectacle.” Echoing this point, another user said, “She needs to go away!! She’s unhinged!! Her parents must be proud. All of that money towards a premier education and she grows up to be pure trash.”

Describing Crockett’s record of poor decisions, another noted, “If she was talking about Congress defunding NPR. No one is saying they can’t broadcast what they want, they are saying we don’t need to use taxpayers money to peddle their swell! But Jasmine has a difficult time in the comprehension department!”
