The coordinator of a homeless shelter on Martha’s Vineyard, Harbor Home’s Lisa Belcastro, went into full “right-wing nationalist” mode with her remarks that the newly-arrived Venezuelan immigrants – by way of Florida – were not welcome on the posh, lioberal enclave and would have to go “somewhere else.”
Presumably, Belcastro votes left and has never voted for a Republican in her life. And yet here she is openly calling for the removal of brown bodies from her island. We are all old enough to remember when Donald Trump was called various epithets, ranging from xenophobe, racist, and white nationalist, when he suggested illegals couldn’t stay here.
To be clear, there is nothing wrong with wanting to preserve a nation’s sovereignty from an invasion of millions of unvetted immigrants. Aside from even the most harmful realities of unchecked immigration like human trafficking, drug smuggling, and the entrance of criminals, the very fabric of a community is changed forever when inhabited by new people. Change is not inherently bad, but not all change is equal.
Here is Belcastro losing her mind at the thought of a mere fifty aliens landing on her ritzy island.
Martha's Vineyard resident reacts to influx of illegal immigrants: “At some point, they have to move from here to somewhere else… We don’t have the services to take care of 50 immigrants…we don’t have housing for 50 more people."pic.twitter.com/COtwjaLAqC

The difficult challenges are, uh, we have – at some point in time they have to move from here to somewhere else. We don’t have the services to take care of fifty immigrants.
We certainly don’t have housing. We’re in a housing crisis, as we are, on this island
We can’t house everyone here that lives here and works here. We don’t have housing for fifty more people.
The contemptible irony of Belcastro’s remarks are made only more outrageous when considering this same island community is a bastion for left-wing virtue signaling. As was observed on Twitter, these same fools released flyers commemorating their awesomeness when it came to welcoming immigrants and refugees. All are welcome?
Sure, they’re welcome as long as they live somewhere else.
All of this lines up squarely with the sentiment shared by Florida’s Ron DeSantis as he hilariously and perfectly distilled the absurd left-wing response to his flights to Martha’s Vineyard, in which he called out their fraudulent virtue signaling.
“We are not a sanctuary state and it’s better to be able to go to a sanctuary jurisdiction. And yes, we will help facilitate that transport for you, to be able to go to greener pastures.
Biden would fly people in the middle of the night. Dump them all across this country. There was no warning on any of this.
And all those people in DC and New York were beating their chests when Trump was president, saying they were so proud to be sanctuary jurisdictions, saying how bad it was to have a secure border.
The minute even a small fraction of what those border towns deal with everyday is brought to their front door, they all of a sudden go berserk and they’re so upset that this is happening.
And it just shows you their virtue signaling is a fraud.”
