In a bombshell segment on Fox News Business, Stuart Varney explained how DOGE, with the help of Antonio Gracias, “exposed our immigration asylum disaster,” and defended him against baseless attacks from Democrats and their allies in the mainstream media.
For context, Antonio Gracias, a successful venture capitalist and close associate of Elon Musk who works with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), revealed a massive fraud operation within Social Security, which allowed illegal immigrants to access taxpayer-funded benefits programs during the Biden administration.
Such was shown when Varney discussed the graft in an April 8, 2025, episode of his show. He said, “DOGE exposed our immigration asylum disaster. That was the tip of the iceberg. Now, here’s the story. DOGE has found that immigration gave a work authorization document to illegals just five months after they filed for asylum.”
Building on that point, he explained how illegals could game the system to get a Social Security number. He explained, “That document allowed them to work while they waited to hear whether their asylum request had been accepted or denied, so they could work as an illegal knowing it would take years before their case was heard, the Immigration Department mailed them a social security number, no interview, no proof of identity, just put it in the mail.”
Hammering away at the mainstream media narrative, Varney explained, “Here is your number: In 2021, DOGE says 270,000 new aliens were issued social security numbers, 590,000 in 2022, 964,000 in 2023, and 2.1 million in ’24. Right before Biden left office, DOGE also discovered that 1.3 million aliens are now receiving Medicaid.”
Concluding his epic defense of Musk, the Fox Business host slammed the Democrats for misinformation. He stated, “Millions received driver’s licenses, some registered to vote, and DOGE says some actually did vote. Try and square that against Democrat claims that Musk is destroying Social Security and cutting Medicaid is not destroying; he’s weeding out people who don’t qualify. Who is really guilty of misinformation? In this case, it is not Elon Musk.”
Social media users were incensed when a clip of the incident was posted to X by prominent conservative voice Libs of TikTok. The original post read, “HOLY SH*T: DOGE found that MILLIONS of illegals were given Social Security numbers over the last 4 years, with 1.3 million receiving Medicaid. Millions of others received driver’s licences, registered to vote, and may have already voted. INSANE.”

In the comments under this post, conservatives flocked to decry this rampant abuse of government welfare programs. One of the comments read, “Serious question: How is this not on every news outlet? How is this not one of the biggest stories?” Another account stated, “Andddd the gvt gets more money for Medicare and Medicare by billing seniors who Medicare who may have won settlements etc. So it’s not JUST taxes going into it…..”
Building on that point, other users expressed their concerns over election integrity. One such comment read, “Illegals were voting? Weird how the mainstream press ASSURED us that none of this was happening… while it was happening.” Another comment read, “If an illegal alien voted, they should be charged with a crime and deported without the ability to return for 20 years.”
