WATCH: Tim Walz Reveals His Son Mocks Him for Losing to Trump

Social media roasted Tim Walz, the failed Democratic nominee for vice president during the 2024 election, after he revealed that his son makes fun of him for losing to Trump. Conservatives pounced on Walz for the embarrassing revelation and expressed their gratitude that he was unsuccessful in his race.

As background, Walz is on a “redemption tour” of town hall-style events after his party’s disastrous election loss, holding them to galvanize public support against the Trump administration. However, these events have done little to erase Walz’s legacy of uncomfortable statements or ease the fears of Democrats worried about the next four years of Trump.

In his unprompted personal revelation, which was made at the March 27, 2025, town hall in Fort Bend, TX, Walz said, “I got an 18-year-old, Gus… and I’m having one of those Dad talks with him… in the middle of it he gives me the old, ‘Says the guy who got his *ss kicked by Donald Trump.”

Blasting the failed Democrat in the comments with a flurry of jokes, conservatives mocked the bizarre confession. One of the replies said, “This reminds me of when Trump had that roast here in NYC and there’s some Men for Harris group, and he said something about how he’s not worried about them because their wives and their wives lovers are all voting for him 🤣🤣😭.”

Building on that point, many of the replies made jokes at Walz’s expense. One of the comments read, “>Loses because he comes across as a pathetic caricature of a white man >Thinks he can salvage his reputation by joking about how pathetic he is. Never change, Walz.” Another comment added, “Proof yet again they had to work hard to find a VP candidate dumber than their Presidential candidate.”

Continuing the mockery, some of the replies questioned who would come to see the unsuccessful candidate speak. One of the responses quipped, “Just imagine where your IQ level is if this is the guy you drive somewhere to listen to talk intellectually…” Another one of the comments added, “Why would he embarrass himself like that? I guess the campaign trail wasn’t enough. 🤣🤣”

Rounding out the comments, some users tied the event to Walz’s recent feud with Elon Musk. One such reply said, ” Lmao, this makes the Elon comments make so much more sense, lol. As if the world laughing at him wasn’t enough, the poor guy is being emasculated by his own son 😂.”

As we reported, Tim Walz made his nasty comments at another DNC town hall. Walz said, “Some of you know this. On the iPhone, they’ve got that little stock app. I added Tesla to it to give me a little boost during the day — $225 and dropping, and if you own one, we’re not blaming you. You can take dental floss and pull the Tesla thing off.”

Responding, CNN contributor Shermichael Singleton fired back at the bitter Democrat. He responded, “First of all, Tim Walz is a complete moron to me. I have to be very honest, and I’m not surprised why the American people did not choose him. Nothing against the vice president. With that said, Elon Musk employs 80 plus thousand Americans.”
