“Corrupt and Compromised”: Internet Sounds Off on Judge Boasberg after “Conflict of Interest” Revealed

Far-left Judge James Boasberg, who rose to prominence after attempting to halt the Trump administration’s deportation of Venezuelan gangsters, is back in the news after internet sleuths discovered that his daughter works for a pro-immigration NGO. Many have pointed out the significant conflict of interest and labeled the judge as “corrupt and compromised.”

For context, Partners in Justice, where Katherine Baosberg, the judge’s daughter, works, is a pro-illegal immigration NGO that received over $3.3 million in annual grants from USAID. The group reportedly provides legal representation and advice to illegal immigrants, including members of MS-13 and Tren de Aragua.

Adding to the scandal, the progressive NGO scrubbed all mention of Katherine Baosberg after her father was assigned the immigration case, which made him famous. Many have speculated that this situation violates the official Code of Conduct for United States Judges, which states that judges must disqualify themselves when their neutrality is called into dispute.

On March 28, 2025, the story broke on social media, where conservatives were outraged by the apparent conflict of interest. One account said, “LAWFARE: Judge Boasberg—the activist judge actively obstructing Trump’s agenda—has a daughter whose NGO offers legal aid to illegal immigrants, including members of MS-13 and the TdA gang. The NGO is indirectly funded by taxpayers through USAID grants.”

Responding to that post, many users expressed their anger. One of the comments read, “The deeper you get into looking at these people, the more you see just how corrupt and compromised they are. This judge should be arrested for defying the Constitution for personal financial gain by him and his family and for protecting illegal aliens.”

Building on that point, another user said, “Here it is, lawfare in plain sight. An Obama-appointed judge blocks Trump’s deportation efforts, while his daughter rakes in government cash to defend violent illegals like MS-13 and TdA thugs. This isn’t justice, it’s a rigged game with taxpayer-funded players. Conflict of interest? That’s putting it lightly. It’s corruption in a robe, and it’s time to shut it down.”

Calling into question how the judge could make his ruling with a clear conscience, one reply read, “Who would say that the judge DOES NOT have a conflict of interest? His daughter’s organization directly benefits from the decisions he has made against America! The Supreme Court needs to step in and correct the situation so the judge cannot make a similar decision again!!:”

Another reply said that Judge Boasberg should have recused himself. The reply read, “A glaring conflict of interest, the Judge should not have been given this case. There is no way his judgement can be trusted, when his daughter is a direct beneficiary of the NGO in question.” Another one of the comments read, “Interesting connection, but this raises questions: how deeply involved is Judge Boasberg in his daughter’s NGO activities? Also, shouldn’t we scrutinize the broader framework of USAID grant allocations to ensure transparency? These dynamics deserve a closer look.”
