CNN correspondent Dana Bash abruptly ended an interview with former Republican Rep. Scott Taylor (VA). She was incensed after he expressed his support for President Trump’s travel ban, which restricted immigration from six nations that Trump described as dangerous. Taylor bought up data from the FBI to support the president’s executive order, and while he maintained perfect decorum, Scott’s clear argument enraged the woke CNN host, and she kicked him off the show.
For context, Trump signed an executive order in March 2017 that restricted immigration from Muslim-majority nations for 90 days and paused the U.S. refugee program for 120 days. This move drew hysterical responses from Democrats and woke activists. However, supporters, such as former Navy SEAL Scott Taylor, emphasized the security concerns of unchecked migration from the Middle East.
Rep. Taylor began his remarks by citing data from the FBI, which linked immigration to acts of unspeakable violence. He said, “Just today, the FBI comes out and says that 30 percent, 30 percent, of their domestic terrorism cases that they’re investigating are from folks who are refugees. It’s important not to label all refugees bad people, that’s not why I’m here, but –”
However, in the middle of his thought, the screen cut to a multibar display and a ringing tone. Dana Bash unconvincingly blamed technical difficulties for ending the interview early. She said while smiling, “I was just going to say, congressman, it’s time to go, but I think the TV gremlins did that for us.” It seems clear that CNN ended the interview early to censor Rep. Taylor.
Even outside of this contentious interview, opinions were sharply divided on Trump’s executive order. At the time of the controversy, then-Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly clarified the ban’s scope: “If you have a current valid visa to travel, we welcome you. Unregulated, unvetted travel is not a universal privilege, especially when national security is at stake.”
Representative Taylor was not the only Republican to defend the President’s sensible decision. Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) said, “I have long supported taking bold steps to keep terrorists from entering America. I look forward to reading the details of the president’s new executive order and conducting oversight to ensure it is implemented smoothly.”

McCaul added that there is a connection between border security and acts of terror. He said, “This month I am also launching a bipartisan Congressional task force focused on closing security gaps that might be exploited by jihadists to sneak into our country, and I hope the administration will work closely with us to put in place new security checks to protect our people from the threat of terror.”
However, woke ideologues lost their minds at Trump’s change to Immigration law. Chuck Schumer said, “Despite the Administration’s changes, this dangerous executive order makes us less safe, not more; it is mean-spirited and un-American. It must be repealed. [It] is all the proof Americans need to know that this has absolutely nothing to do with national security.”
