As more and more classified documents from Biden’s time as Vice President are found squirreled away in inappropriate places given the sensitive nature of the information reportedly contained in them, Republicans are growing louder in their calls for both Biden and the handling of the documents to be investigated.
Among them was Elise Stefanik, who recently posted a link to a New York Post story about more Biden documents being found in his Deleware home. Commenting on the scandalous story and what needs to be done to hold President Joe Biden accountable for what looks like improper handling of confident information, she said:
Joe Biden and the Biden Crime Family are corrupt and significant threats to national security.
The fact that federal law enforcement looks the other way when Democrats like Hilary Clinton, Hunter Biden, or Joe Biden break the law while these federal agencies illegally target Republicans is why critical Congressional oversight is so sorely needed to deliver accountability.
In another tweet, Stefanik said “We need to know why Joe Biden refuses to release his visitor logs at his Delaware residences while classified documents were hidden in the garage when foreign visitors could have had access. This is a clear matter of national security. House Republicans will expose the truth.”
Stefanik is hardly the only Republican to call out both DOJ hypocrisy in dealing with the documents of the two presidents and for Biden and his family to be investigated over the matter and other suspicious behaviors. Rep. Comer, for example, recently told ABC’s Jake Tapper:
“My concern is that special counsel was called for, but yet hours of that we still had the president’s personal attorneys who have no security clearance still rummaging around the president’s residence looking for things. That would essentially be a crime scene, so to speak, after the appointment of a special counsel. So we have a lot of questions for the National Archives. We have a lot of questions for the Department of Justice, and hopefully, we’ll be getting answers very soon.
“We just want equal treatment here with respect to how both former President Trump and current President Biden are being treated with the document issue.
“The fact that they were quick to call for special counsel with Trump, it seems political here. It seems hypocritical. It seems like a double standard. That’s our concern. I have jurisdiction as chairman of the House Oversight Committee over the National Archives. This is the agency I’m most frustrated with because they have not been transparent at all. They should be briefing myself and ranking member Raskin who will be your next guest on the show, about what’s going on here. They never did tell us about November 2nd. We asked questions about what went on with Mar-a-Lago. Why was Mar-a-Lago raided but the president’s home not? Why are the president’s lawyers still allowed to rummage through looking for documents after a special counsel has been appointed? It doesn’t make sense. It’s not fair. We just want equal treatment.”
And Rep. Comer isn’t just talking. He’s in charge of the House Oversight Committee and so has, using his power as chairman of the powerful committee, launched an investigation into Biden.
Making things even worse for President Biden, his AG, Merrick Garland, has appointed a special counsel, Robert Hur, to investigate if Biden mishandled the recently found classified documents.
