WATCH: Stephen Smith Hilariously Shuts Down “The View” Host To Her Face, Defends Trump

In a clip posted to social media on March 3, 2025, Stephen A. Smith fired back at Joy Behar and defended Trump’s record. She claimed that Trump lacked a mandate from the voters because he didn’t win by a wide margin. Smith shut her down by pointing to the historic nature of Trump’s victory. Online commenters agreed with Smith and expressed their approval for the president.

“It’s only been in office for six weeks, seems like six years, doesn’t it, and he’s been going around with his cronies touting his so-called landslide and blowout win, but he won the popular vote by 1.5% one of the smallest ever, and he won the general election by less than 50% so what kind of mandate is this really?” said woke Joy Behar.

“It is a mandate, and I’m going to explain why, and I don’t mind the question, but let me be very clear, I’m no supporter of Trump. I’m a supporter of truth and the facts,” Stephen Smith replied. ” And here’s the facts, the man won every swing state. He increased in terms of his vote, voter turnout in his favor. From the standpoint of blacks, Latinos and young voters, he increased his numbers.”

In that regard, from 2020, 89% of the county shifted to the right. That’s a mandate. We can sit up there and play around all we want to in 2020, they didn’t,” he added. “Trump didn’t win the popular vote, he didn’t win the electoral college vote. A matter of fact, the Republicans hadn’t won the popular vote, if I remember, but they did this year, so 20 years after they last won a popular vote, they won the popular vote, they won the electoral college vote.”

“The man won every swing state. Stand on top of 89% of the counties shift against I don’t understand how people can look at that and say there’s no mandate,” he concluded. Commentors on social media agreed with Smith’s view. “He nailed it when he said Dems are finding just another “excuse.” It’s always about finding an excuse, it’s always someone else’s fault, and *never* “We were wrong,'” one account replied.

“Stephen A. gets it because he’s an outsider and not stuck in the DNC forest where he can’t see the trees. He will find out that if he runs on the DNC ticket that he will be forced to toe the line or they will oust him. He can ask Tulsi and RFK about their xp with that,” another noticed. One commenter said, “They expected him to clap along like a trained seal and he wasn’t having any of that.”

“He cooked @TheView. This is what happens when you pick and choose what statical data to look at to justify an excuse for the L,” one user wrote. “@TheView would be more popular if they could bring facts to an argument instead of nitpicking through statical data to support an opinion, pushing biased agendas or just making stuff up. Find the facts for an argument, do the research and present that evidence in support of the view’s opinion.”

Other accounts took aim at the View. “Such a disservice to women having this garbage air on tv, even though no one watches it. full of spite, disdain, and unintelligent comments. allowing zero space for even attempting to understand another view – all on purpose. cancel this disgrace of a show,” one woman reacted to the bombastic video.
