WATCH: “The View” Host Freaks Out, Snaps At Democrats for Not Being Rude Enough to Trump

In a lengthy tirade that is quite in line with what “The View” generally stands for, show co-host Sunny Hostin went on the attack against Democratic lawmakers who didn’t follow the lead of Rep. Al Green (D-TX) and be rude and disruptive to the point of being thrown out of the House Chamber, declaring that they should have done so.

As background, at one point toward the beginning of President Donald Trump’s State of the Union Address, Rep. Green and other Democrats were being disruptive. Speaker Johnson told them that he would throw them out if they continued being disruptive, and so all quieted down except for Rep. Green, who stood shooking his cane and shouting. He was removed by the Sergeant at Arms at Speaker Johnon’s command.

After being thrown from the chamber, Rep. Green justified his behavior by saying that he was drawing attention to Trump’s policies. He said, “I’ll accept the punishment. It’s worth it to let people know that there’s some of us who are going to stand up to against this president’s desire to cut Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.”

Speaking about the matter, Sunny Hostin put all the other Democratic lawmakers on blast, and claimed that they should have followed Rep. Green’s lead and walked out of the House Chamber after he was removed for being disruptive, something that would have been a stunning act of rudeness, even for them.

She said, speaking about the matter on the Wednesday, March 5 broadcast of “The View,” “What I saw when Rep. Al Green stood up and said, you don’t have a mandate to take away Medicaid, and he was tossed out, I expected the rest of his Democratic caucus, the rest of his colleagues, to walk out with him.”

Continuing, Hostin said that what the Democrats need is “solidarity,” and that the rudeness exhibited by Rep. Green is the sort of “energy” that Democrats need as they fight Trump. She said, “Because alone you can survive, but together you thrive. That is the energy that we need. They should have stood with him in solidarity.”

She then referenced a Tuesday show with former Biden White House press secretary Karine Jean Pierre, saying, “And we had Karine Jean-Pierre here on this show yesterday, and she said we have to have a sense of urgency as we move forward, and we cannot do it the way we have in the past. This is not normal. It is a five-alarm fire.”

Concluding, Hostin said that the Trump Administration is different because it has “thrown away the rule book,” though she didn’t elaborate on how it had done so, and thus that the Democrats need to stop trying to play by the rules. She said, “You can’t play by the rules with a party that has thrown away the rule book. You cannot do it.” Watch Hostin here:

Chiming in and disagreeing with Hostin’s crazy take, “The View” co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin praised Rep. Elissa Slotkin, but said that the rude antics on the House floor weren’t a success. She said, “I thought that Elissa Slotkin was masterful, and I think she gave Democrats the winning message that they flailed to have [sic]. But I thought the antics on the floor were not helpful. I don’t think that waving a cane is the optics that the Democrats want in this.”
