Another public person has suffered an unexpected, serious medical event. This time that is Jennie Gow, BBC’s presenter for Formula One racing and a regular guest on Netflix’s Drive To Survive. She suffered an unexpected and quite serious stroke despite being just 45-years-old, as she announced on her Twitter, saying:
“Hi everyone, been quiet the last few weeks, this is because I suffered a serious stroke two weeks ago. My husband is helping me type this, as I’m finding it hard to write and my speech is most affected.
I’m desperate to make a full recovery and return to work, but it might take some time. Thank you to the medical teams at Frimley and St George’s and my family and friends who’ve got me through the last fortnight X”

Many people and organizations wished her well in comments on that post, saying things like:
“Oh Jennie, sending you all the best wishes for a quick and full recovery. And so much love ♥️”
“Everyone at Brackley and Brixworth are sending you love and positive thoughts for your recovery, Jennie. We can’t wait to see you back in the paddock again soon. ❤️”
“Wishing you all the best with your recovery, no rush, take your time, the paddock will be waiting for you when you return!”
“Sending you and your family strength and here’s hoping we have you back broadcasting in the not too distant future. I’m so sorry this has happened to you. Sending you so much love x”
“All the best for your recovery Jennie. I’ve been there. It might take some time like you say. But you will get there!”
“Jennie… take care of yourself. So sorry to hear this. I hope you’re doing ok.”
“Hey Jennie, sorry you’re going through a tough time but we know how strong you are. You’ve got this 💪🏽 Sending energy and love”
“Jennie, so desperately sorry to read this and sending all my love and strength. You WILL get through this but take all the time you need. We’ll all be here. So much love. Xxx”
“Oh Jennie, poor you. What a scary time for you all. Sending much love and strength and look forward to hearing you back on the air when you’re ready. ❤️”
“You will get through this Jennie. It won’t be easy, but you will get there. You will overcome this. All the best to you.”
“Jennie, we’re all sending you lots of love and our best wishes for your recovery. We look forward to seeing you in the paddock again soon. 💚”
Jennie isn’t the only Brit to suffer a high-profile, tragic medical event recently. One 10-year-old girl in Britain, for example, recently died suddenly after collapsing at school. She was, according to those who knew her, fit and healthy at the time of her sudden, unexpected death.
Elsewhere in the former empire others suffered tragic events such, as an 18-year-old baseball star from Canada who died in his sleep at home in late December. Like the 10-year-old, he was also fit and healthy when he died suddenly.
