A stunning video making the rounds online shows an incident that occurred on Thursday, February 13, in which former Eagles guitarist Don Felder suffered what appeared to be a frightening, public medical emergency while he was performing on stage on a cruise ship in the Miami, Florida, area.
In the video at issue, Mr. Felder is engaging with the cruise ship’s audience as part of a The Rock Legend Cruise performance, strumming his guitar as he does so. Then, while performing the famous Eagles hit “Tequila Sunrise” shortly afterward, he suddenly started stumbling on stage, in full view of the shocked audience.
Alongside the stumbling, Mr, Felder then stopped playing his guitar or the song and seemed to have trouble balancing on his feet, leading to a crew member running onto the stage and aiding him in standing, then she quickly escorted him off of the stage and out of view of the audience and their cameras.
Mr. Felder’s team posted about the matter on Instagram, the photo and video sharing platform owned by Mark Zuckerberg’s META, and commented on the reason for the “abrupt stop” while remaining positive about the situation. They wrote, “We appreciate everyone’s concern regarding Don Felder’s abrupt stop to his show last night on the Rock Legends Cruise.”
Continuing, his team noted that what initially appeared to be a severe medical emergency was, in reality, a dangerous situation but much more mundane: he was merely dehydrated. The team wrote, “After receiving medical attention he was deemed to be suffering from dehydration. He was given fluids, and is feeling much better.”
The statement from Mr. Felder’s team then noted that he would perform further shows on the cruise after getting healthy again, saying, “To ensure he has ample time to rehydrate and recover fully, we are working on rescheduling today’s shows and adjusting the remainder of the cruise schedule accordingly. Thank you for your understanding, and remember – drink your water!” Watch the incident here:

Mr. Felder’s manager, Charlie Brusco, told Fox News Digital in a statement on the medical incident and what happened on the cruise concert stage, “Don experienced a medical episode last night during the show. He received medical attention and was deemed to be suffering from dehydration.” Brusco added, “By medical rules of the cruise, he’ll be in quarantine for the next 24 hours to rest. Arrangements are being made for him to play on Saturday and Sunday.”
The incident quickly took off on social media. For example, radio personality Eddie Trunk said, “Hearing reports that Don Felder collapsed about 4 songs into his set tonight while playing on a cruise. The show was stopped and he was receiving medical attention. Hoping he is okay! The good news is he was conscious after the collapse.”
Don Felder, for his part, released a statement in which he said, “Hey guys, I just wanted to tell you all I am back 100 percent. I had a wonderful time down in the little medical facility getting an I.V. last night. I feel fantastic, so I appreciate all your concern, but I am back and ready to rock.”
