“Somebody Sounds Nervous”: AOC Reacts after Tom Homan Announces Investigation of Her for Possible Illegal Immigrant-Aid Crime

President Donald Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, recently announced that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) would be investigated to determine whether she committed the crime of impeding the administration’s deportation efforts.  For months, Homan has maintained that anyone interfering with his mission to detain and deport illegal aliens would face legal consequences for violating the law.

As background, AOC reportedly hosted a webinar instructing illegal immigrants how to avoid deportation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).  During an interview with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham, Homan questioned the legality of such a move, asking the appropriate officials to open an investigation into the matter.

Ingraham said, “Tom, you got AOC out there, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, congresswoman, putting out a webinar to help illegals avoid, I guess, apprehension, giving tips about how to continue to remain in the country and ultimately game the system.”  Homan immediately responded that he took swift action against AOC.

“And I sent an email today to the Deputy Attorney General, at what level is that impediment?” he asked. “Is that impediment?”  Homan acknowledged that the issue extends beyond his legal expertise and that is why he has consulted attorneys on the matter. “I’m not I’m not attorney, I’m not a prosecutor. Is that impediment? Is that impeding our law enforcement efforts?”

The host asked Homan, “And so what are you going to do about it? Is she crossing the line?” He answered, “So I’m working with the Department of Justice and finding out where is that line that they cross, so maybe AOC’s gonna be in trouble now but I need the AOG to opine on that. Impediment is impediment in my opinion. I’m not, I’m not a prosecutor, but we need some further guidance on that.”

However, Homan concluded with a firm message, demonstrating that the Trump administration is “done” with the subversion of immigration laws. “But again, if we have to take every federal dollar on the city with law, I mean, what we’re done,” he concluded.

AOC reacted to the clip after it went viral on social media, mocking Homan and suggesting he is unable to read. “MaYbe shE’s goiNg to be in TroUble nOw,” she wrote on X. “Maybe he can learn to read. The Constitution would be a good place to start,” the progressive congresswoman added.

Following her reaction to Homan’s interview, Ocasio-Cortez faced backlash from conservatives.  Popular commentator Rogan O’Handley, better known as DC Draino, suggested that she was fearful of the potential repercussions that could follow.  “Somebody sounds nervous,” he wrote under the “Squad” member’s comment.

Another user pushed back against AOC, writing, “No ma’am. I think maybe you should. Where in the Constitution does it enshrine the right for you, a sitting U.S. Congresswoman, to teach people here illegally how to avoid ICE? Could you point that out for me?”

    Watch Homan below:

One user opined, “AOC is accused of teaching illegal immigrants how to evade ICE, a potential felony under 8 U.S. Code § 1324 (aiding and abetting unlawful entry). Tom Homan, former ICE Director, sent a letter to the DOJ demanding an investigation. If true, this could carry serious legal consequences.”
