Late last year, lawmakers recently celebrated the efforts to end of what has been described as inhumane experimentation on beagles funded by U.S. tax dollars. The watchdog group White Coat Waste Project (WCW) had reportedly uncovered evidence of the testing on the dogs, leading to scrutiny from congressional Republicans such as Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC).
GOP leaders took to social media, sharing pictures of themselves celebrating with beagles after putting a stop to the experiments. Mace wrote, “Last week, we welcomed Uno—the first of nearly 4,000 beagles rescued from one of Dr. Fauci’s testing facilities.” She added, “Huge thanks to White Coat Waste Project for your work to end federally funded experiments on animals and help them all!”
Rep. Young Kim (R-CA) shared a similar post in which she wrote, “Made a new friend today! Uno is a beagle who was saved from inhumane dog testing. Animals should be treated with care, not cruelty!” Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) said, “A special visitor stopped by my office today! What a treat being able to spend time with Uno the rescued lab dog and working with White Coat Waste Project to cut wasteful govt spending on cruel and outdated dog and cat experiments.”
Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene took to X, sharing a heartwarming video of her meeting Uno, while vowing that Fauci should be held accountable for the lab testing. “I had one of the best meetings ever this afternoon, spending it with Uno, a beagle rescued from one of Mr. Fauci’s evil science labs. Thank you to @WhiteCoatWaste for the work you are doing to end the abuse of innocent puppies in the name of “science.” Uno agrees, Mr. Fauci belongs in jail!” she said.
The American Tribune recently reported on remarks from Rep. Mace exposing the Biden administration and Fauci for the millions of taxpayer dollars being allocated to questionable experiments. The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform reported that Mace opened a hearing on the oversight of “taxpayer-funded animal cruelty.”
Calling out the Biden-Harris administration, she said, “For example, the Biden-Harris administration spent 2.5 million taxpayer dollars, 2.5 million taxpayer dollars to study the fertility of transgender mice. Let that sink in. We spent over $2 million sending the fertility of transgender mice $1.1 million was spent to find out if female rats receiving testosterone therapies to mimic transgender men were more likely to overdose on a party drug commonly used in the LGBTQ community to induce drug-fueled was called, quote, ‘chem sex’.”
Speaking about Fauci’s experiments involving Beagles, she said, “The White Coat Waste Project found in 2021 that the NIH, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, a component of NIH, at the time, ran by Dr Fauci, spent $1.68 million for speeding toxic drugs Beagle puppies between six and eight months old before dissecting and killing them.”

Mace continued, “The conversation we’re having today is important in 2022 due to public criticism lobbied against Fauci’s NIAD by me and other members of Congress, another $1.8 million experiment to abuse Beagle puppies and various drug tests was canceled. So I want to thank the work of White Coat Waste and everyone in the room today, others who’ve been on the forefront of this fight to end the sick and cruel and barbaric testing of animals today, thanks to one of our witness, Justin Goodman, of White Coat Waste, we have in the audience. I already know the Beagles are here. The Beagles are a reminder of the real costs of animal experimentation.”
