Dems Threaten to Shut Down the Government to Stop Elon from Cutting Waste, Corruption Out of Government Spending

According to recent reports, Democrats threaten to shut down the government to stop the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by Elon Musk, from enacting President Donald Trump’s agenda of downsizing the federal government and cutting wasteful spending that burdens the taxpayers.  The outlandish idea was proposed by New Jersey’s Democratic Senators, Cory Booker and Andy Kim.

Since stepping back into office several weeks ago, President Trump has been swift in enacting his agenda, including the long-held promise to reign in the federal government and “drain the swamp.”  Subsequently, Elon Musk’s DOGE has taken substantial actions, such as moving to shut down USAID and obtaining Treasury Department data to cut spending.  All these actions have been heavily protested by the left.

“We are in a crisis right now, and Democrats will use every tool possible to protect Americans,” Booker said in recent comments.  Echoing this sentiment, Kim suggested that if the congressional Democrats refused to pass a spending bill, it could be blamed on President Trump and the GOP amid the left’s opposition to the spending cuts.

Speaking about the possibility of a government shutdown, Kim said, “I would be the last person to want to get to that stage. But we are at a point where we are basically on the cusp of a constitutional crisis.”  Various other Democratic lawmakers have made public comments calling for the Musk and the Trump administration to be stopped.

The American Tribune recently reported on comments from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer who criticized Musk and Trump over the USAID shut down.  “Before our very eyes, an unelected shadow government is conducting a hostile takeover of the federal government,” Schumer said before describing the incident as an “illegal seizure.”

“This weekend, Doge staffers also executed what can only be described as an illegal seizure of the US Agency for International Development, or USAID. We don’t know who these Doge staffers are. We don’t know if they have security clearances. We don’t know of legal authority they have to access USAID facilities, if any,” he continued.

The New York Democrat continued, “We know shutting down USAID puts American security in danger. USA programs preserve America’s influence in Africa, Asia and regions across the world. Our humanitarian efforts are critical for fighting Ebola, which is spreading in Uganda right now. It’s essential for countering terrorist activity at the time of soaring edge egg prices shutting off USA programs that fight the global spread of bird flu is utterly asinine.”

Musk has continually criticized USAID, maintaining it needs to be closed.  “This is the one shot the American people have to defeat BUREAUcracy, rule of the bureaucrats, and restore DEMOcracy, rule of the people. We’re never going to get another chance like this. It’s now or never. Your support is crucial to the success of the revolution of the people,” he said.

“USAID was a viper’s nest of radical-left marxists who hate America,” Musk added. “USAID is a criminal organization. Time for it to die.”  Addressing Schumer’s reaction to the move against the organization, the multi-billionaire continued, “Hysterical reactions like this is how you know that @DOGE is doing work that really matters.”
