During her attendance at the Super Bowl last night, pop star Taylor Swift was on the receiving end of a wave of loud boos from the crowd when featured on the jumbotron. Footage of the incident shows the singer, sitting alongside fellow artist Ice Spice, appearing to be taken aback by the hostile reception from fans in New Orleans.
Swift attended the event to support her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs standout tight end Travis Kelce, and perhaps the boos came from Eagles fans voicing their disdain for her allegiance to their opponent. Furthermore, some NFL fans have criticized the attention Swift has commanded when she attends NFL games, arguing that it distracts from the event.
Footage from the game shows Swift appearing on the Caesars Superdome jumbotron, after which she was quickly met with a torrent of boos from the stadium. Swift struck a troubled look on her face, glancing over at Ice Spice in seeming confusion. The singer glanced back at the field, appearing to wonder if the boos were for her or a controversial call on the field.
While Swift was booed, footage from the Super Bowl appeared to show President Donald Trump receiving an overwhelming applause from attendees. President Trump became the first sitting U.S. president to attend the event in person, explaining he was motivated to make an appearance at the game to unify the country.
Footage shows Trump standing alongside his daughter Ivanka Trump as they look out onto the field as the American flag is displayed. Simultaneously the crowd roared with applause. Libs of TikTok shared a clip of the incident, writing, “Trump gets massive cheers at the Super Bowl while Taylor Swift gets booed. The world is healing! ”
Conservative commentator Nick Sortor also chimed in, pointing out the positive reception Trump received from players on the field. “AWESOME: Chiefs player Chris Jones SPECIFICALLY came out to shake President Trump’s hand right before the Super Bowl America is healing. Legacy media, who tried so hard to demonize Trump, FAILED,” he said.
In Trump’s pre-Super Bowl interview with Fox News host Brett Baier, the president claimed, “I thought it would be a good thing for the country to have the president be at the game.” Announcing his support for the Chiefs, he continued, “I guess you have to say that when a quarterback wins as much as he’s won, I have to go with Kansas City. I have to go with Kansas City. At the same time, Philadelphia has a fantastic — it’s going to be just a great game.”

President Trump further emphasized the need to unify the country and bring everyone together amid the intense polarization in recent years. “We have to come together,” Trump asserted. “But to come together, there’s only one thing that’s going to do it, and that’s massive success. Success will bring the country together, but it’s hard.”
