President Donald Trump recently reacted to news that former President Joe Biden signed a deal with a major Hollywood talent agency just weeks after leaving the White House. According to reports, Biden signed with Creative Artists Agency, which previously represented him between 2017-2020, during the first Trump administration.
During his previous relationship with the talent agency, he published his 2017 memoir Promise Me, Dad: A Year of Hope, Hardship, and Purpose. The book discusses the loss of his eldest son, Beau, and became a New York Times number-one bestseller. The move from CAA has raised eyebrows as the agency is typically known for working with movie stars and A-list celebrities but occasionally dips into politics.
Footage of Trump reacting to the news featured a reporter, who sounded to be Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy, asking, “What do you think about Joe Biden signing on with a talent agency?”
As Trump signed executive orders in the Oval Office, he replied, “You’ve got to be kidding.” While shaking his head, he added, “He signed with a talent agency?
“I think he’s got much bigger problems than that, but I wish him well,” Trump continued. “We inherited a mess. This place is a mess,” he said, railing on the Biden-Harris administration. “But it’s quickly being solved, the problem. We’re going to make America great again,” Trump said, concluding his Oval Office interactions with the press.
“President Biden is one of America’s most respected and influential voices in national and global affairs,” CAA Co-chairman Richard Lovett said in a statement regarding the agency’s new relationship with the former president. “His lifelong commitment to public service is one of unity, optimism, dignity and possibility. We are profoundly honored to partner with him again.”
While Biden has been relatively quiet since stepping out of office, The American Tribune recently reported on legal analysis surrounding his last-minute preemptive pardons that could backfire on their recipients. Federal litigation attorney Jesse Binnall explained that the pardons could actually be used as a weapon by the GOP.
“The pardons are actually great news. No one who was just pardoned will be able to refuse to testify in a civil, criminal, or congressional proceeding based upon the 5th Amendment. And let’s just be realistic. Most of these disgusting individuals would probably have to be charged in Washington, DC, which doesn’t convict partisan leftists,” Binall wrote.

Binall continued, “A requirement of asserting the 5th Amendment is that one has to reasonably believe that the information sought could be used in a criminal prosecution. While I’m not aware of any specific cases where a pardoned individual has attempted to assert the 5th Amendment on such circumstances, it’s difficult to see any legal basis for an assertion in regards to pardoned conduct.”
The attorney also retweeted a post in which conservative columnist and lawyer Kurt Schlicter explained the hypothetical scenario, stating, “This is key – the depositions and the actual testimony must take place outside of Washington DC. Washington DC is a biased venue that will not convict Democrats when they commit perjury. Accordingly, take this show on the road. @hughhewitt”
