Political commentators on social media have called for the former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency John Brennan to face charges following what some claim was an act of treason when he allegedly orchestrated foreign intelligence agencies to spy on Donald Trump in 2016. As Trump has stepped back into power, some have suggested this matter should be investigated.
Reports have surfaced indicating that Brennan had identified over two dozen Trump associates for the “Five Eyes” nations, the United States, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia. Sources claim the intelligence community had targeted these individuals to manipulate or extract information, leading to the 2016 Russia Collusion Hoax.
Conservative commentator Chicago Ray recently said to his followers on X. “Guess who else Biden didn’t issue a pardon. John Brennan committed treason when he asked foreign spy agencies to spy on Trump in (2016). Brennan shouldn’t only have his security clearance revoked, he should be facing charges.” He then asked, “Do you think Pam Bondi should go after Brennan?”
Continuing, Ray said, “He was CIA Director when (26) people associated with Trump were wiretapped, including Trump himself.” Stressing the importance of holding the government accountable for the alleged misconduct, the post added, “Unless these people are dealt with in a way that they don’t try this again….. they’ll do it again.”
Journalist Michael Shellenberger commented on the matter, “If this binder contains what we have been told that it contains, which may include raw intelligence information showing that the US government, the CIA, and the intelligence community of the US government, initiated the Russia collusion hoax, that it did not occur in the way that the official story, including the Durham investigation, had portrayed it. Then that’s extremely serious information.”
The American Tribune recently reported on comments from Brennan where he voiced skepticism toward former Democrat Tulsi Gabbard’s role in the Trump administration after she was tapped to serve as the director of national security intelligence. Speaking to MSNBC, Brennan worried that Gabbard might “skew” intelligence briefings.
The former CIA Director said, “Well, when there are National Security Council meetings that the President chairs in the White House Situation Room, usually the first person to speak would be the director of national intelligence and the director of CIA, they lay down the intelligence basis for any type of policy discussion that ensues.”

Brennan maintained that intelligence must remain impartial given its implications on policy decisions. “And so if that intelligence basis, that briefing is going to be skewed or is going to be lacking some very important critical information. The policy decision that ultimately comes out of it is also going to be baseless, and also, you know, it’s going to be potentially threatening to our national security,” he said.
However, conservative commentator Shaun Maguire reacted to the video on X, stating, “John Brennan: 1) Spied on the US Senate while he was CIA Director 2) Implied Trump has ties to Russia in 2016 (Russiagate) 3) Claimed Hunter’s laptop was Russian disinfo two weeks before the 2020 election. Now he really doesn’t want Tulsi as DNI… ”
