Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) recently shut down a mainstream media reporter in the halls of the Capitol over President Donald Trump’s pardoning of over 1,500 January 6 prisoners. As the reporter approached MTG, she quickly flipped the script, pointing out the conduct of others, such as the “Biden crime family” and the Black Lives Matter protestors.
The tense conversation began when Greene asked if any J6 protestors would be invited to the Capitol for tours or meetings. Sensing where the discussion was going, MTG immediately said, “Is this all you’re really talking about, the J6ers that have been pardoned?” The Georgia Republican pointed out that the pardons from former President Joe Biden should be discussed instead.
Are you going to talk about the Biden family that got pardoned? No, I haven’t. Okay. What about the rapers and killers and murderers, that Joe Biden pardoned. There are tons of them, is that a focus at all?” MTG continued, “I’m not doing this. This, this insane place up here, and all of y’all obsession with January 6 is absurd.”
The GOP congresswoman went on, “Everybody outside of here is sick and f****** tired of it. I’m serious. And so Joe Biden pardons all these murders and rapists and disgusting people. And then everybody up here has got their paintings in a lot because J6ers got pardoned on people that walk through open doors. A lot of them walk through open doors. That’s it.”
“They’re pardoned, and thank God. I hope they go live their lives and can reassemble something back together, because they have suffered enough,” MTG asserted. She then implored the reporter to cover leftist rioters who were left relatively unpunished compared to the J6ers. “Go do a story on the Antifa, BLM people that never served time, over 95% of them seriously,” she said.
Building on this point, MTG said, “Go get the story of these cities that BLM burned to the ground and they never built back. They raised all that money on that blue and they never built those communities back.” Greene maintained that the media is not concerned with the reality that so many American face. “I’ve seen I’ve seen all of the Democrat-run networks and awesome about January 6, and they just can’t get over themselves. But they don’t give a shit about real America,” she said.
Concluding her scorching criticism of the media, Greene said, “You people never gave me a fair shot to begin with, and you all these assumptions and all these headlines and all these lies. So you came in asking, why don’t you do a story on what people care about? People care about the border, the economy, energy. They’re sick and tired of the foreign wars. They’re tired of the hypocrisy up here, and they hate the media right now they do. I’m serious. You guys have created a situation where you’re not trusted and people are sick of you, and it’s sad. I’m serious, it’s sad. Well, so no, I’m not. I’m not answering this question because I’m not going down this stupid thing.”
