Comedian Nikki Glaser delivered an opening monologue at this year’s Golden Globes Awards, where she took jabs at her Hollywood cohorts. Amid her jaw-dropping jokes were several lines about disgraced rapper P Diddy. The remarks from Glaser generated uncomfortable laughs from the audience. Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, was plugged into the Hollywood crowd, partying with many A-list celebrities over the years.
During her bit, Glaser said in part, “Oh, Challenger’s Girl. Oh, my God, it was so good. I mean, that movie was more sexually charged than Diddy’s credit card. I mean, seriously.” Sensing the uncomfortable reaction from the crowd, she then said, “Oh no, no, I know. I’m sorry. I’m upset too. The after-party is not going to be as good this year, but we have to move on.”
Concluding the joke Glaser said, “I know Stanley Tucci freak off just doesn’t have the same ring to it. But no baby oil this year because lots of olive oil.” The clip quickly went viral on social media generating renewed discussion about the P Diddy controversy and the implications it has toward Hollywood. “When will we find out more about Diddy?” one eager user asked on X.
The independent news outlet, The Scoop, commented on Glaser’s joke, “Love how Nikki Glaser roasted the Hollywood elites right to their faces at the Golden Globes, especially that zinger about Diddy’s parties – no more freak offs, no baby oil. The awkward laughs from the A-listers were priceless. Finally, someone calling out the hypocrisy in Tinseltown. Kudos to Nikki for keeping it real and funny.”
“I am not here to roast you tonight,” Glaser began her opening monologue at the awards show. “I want you to know that. And how could I, really? You’re all so famous, so talented, so powerful. I mean, you could really do anything, except tell the country who to vote for,” she said, referencing Trump’s landslide win in the presidential election. “But it’s OK,” she continued, “you’ll get ’em next time ― if there is one.”
Returning to jokes about Hollywood corruption and crime, she also said, “I predict, five years from now, when you’re watching old clips of (this) show on YouTube, you’ll see someone in one of the crowd shots, and you’ll go, ‘Oh my god, that was before they caught that guy.’ We could be making history tonight, and, like, we don’t even know with who.”
The American Tribune reported on other comments relating to the P Diddy scandal in which incoming FBI Director Kash Patel said the Trump administration could declassify the Diddy and Epstein lists. “And that’s what they feared about Donald Trump. He’s going to come in there and maybe give him the Epstein list and maybe give him the P. Diddy list. You know, he’s going to come up there and maybe do all these things. And they are terrified,” he said.
